Our second visit to the Gallery.Last time the food was excellent, though the service was informal and unsupervised.This time the food was abysmal, but the servers were clearly being advised and encouraged by supervisors.I guess it is hit and miss, but whatever the quality, it is good value (especially if you have wine), and this time we felt happy to be doing a civic service!It is wonderful for these young people to have the opportunity to serve genuine customers.We will definitely go again. My mother and I were taken out to lunch here by friends, our first visit to this restaurant and it is difficult to fault in any area. There was disabled parking right beside the front door and staff immediately appeared at the door to help us in and provide guidance. We were accompanied by two elderly disable folk, one severely, but none of us had trouble manoeuvering through to the restaurant and settling at a table. Throughout the day the service was friendly, but incredibly efficient, with lovely touches of flair like being presented with a choice of orange or lime with our water.The restaurant is run by Albert Roux and so I tried 2 of his signature dishes. The floating Swiss cheese souffle was possible the best starter I've ever eaten and the lemon tart was subtly flavoured and also delicious. My roe deer loin with side bits and pieces was delicious, but the smallest of the main dishes ordered, so I was pleased to help my mother with her Yorkshire pudding and potatos. The roast beef was deemed to be a little chewy by all 3 who ordered it due to it being rare. Although I appreciate that this is intended by the chef, it would have been nice to have been offered medium or well done.The little touches made this a spectacular experience, the amuse bouche, home made fancies with the coffee, the ability to move through to the lounge for coffee, starched serviettes, etc.At £42 for a 3 course table d'hote menu, this represented good value for money given that an occasion like this should be regarded as more than a lunch, but an experience.

Good honest food - 5 stars for the landlord who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area - and the local Dunblane #kiltygin was lovely - also recommended by the lovely barmaid

We were down in Dunblane for our first wedding anniversary and found this restaurant the best in town. Food delicious, staff very friendly and welcoming, cosy atmosphere and prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place above all others to eat in town.

We opted to sit outside in the beer garden. Beautiful countryside view with clothes blowing in tind on a clothes line. Dogs were allowed and enjoyed watching some Border Collies play. We had local tap beer, and a wonderful soft baked cheeze appitizer, my husband had roast beef and potatoes which I shared as it was a large portion. The root vegetables were very good, as was my local style salad. Would love to return.

We booked two rooms for one night at this hotel which looked nice & thought it would suit our needs.On entering the hotel we were shocked by the appearance of the entrance looked. It needed a good Hoover & general tidy up. A lot of unnessary stuff was lying about & made it look very untidy.When we checked in the girl on duty was very polite, pleasant & very helpful when showing us our rooms.We decided to stay & make the best of the situation due to the holiday period.After unpacking we had a look at the public rooms & were shocked !!!!!!To find at app 3.00pm in the dining room, dirty breakfast dishes were still on some of the tables & Some of the breakfast buffet were lying uncovered.Through in the lounge bar a whole table of dirty dishes from lunch time were still there. We felt sorry for the girl on duty to be left with all this & also reception duties.We had a very good nights sleep in very comfortable beds with lovely clean linen.The bathrooms however were a different story.!!!Who needs miniature shower gel & soap when we have our own? Give us a towel rainl & a toilet roll holder !!!When we came down for breakfast we found the floor at the buffet table so sticky & unpleasant.( when was it last washed?)On a positive note- the cooked breakfast was first class & most enjoyable. Good quality of sausage & bacon were provided.After over 35 years experience as a Cleaning Supervisor I was shocked at the overall standard of this hotel & felt like rolling up my sleeves & getting stuck inPerhaps if we return to this hotel a better standard will be found.Disappointed Scotland / England

We stopped here for a rest on the way back home. A very relaxing environment created by the building, layout and decor. The cafe food is very good quality. We were at coffee time but one of us had the fantastic breakfast stack. The breakfast being served to others looked super. The scones were fresh and it’s good to see a regular specials option also. It’s all really fresh and far better quality than most places. We bought sausages from the butchers also. These are the best I’ve had in Scotland... ever! Will be back sooner next time. Brilliant! The best sausages in Scotland is quite the accolade and we're delighted that you think so. They're made by our Smiddy butchers are served with our breakfasts, as well as being for sale from the butchery.Hope to see you again soon.

The first time we visited we were glad to snag the last seat inside. This time (following GOT and Outlander filming at Doune Castle) there were no seats inside but we found that they had moved to seats outside so we snagged one. Even as busy as it was we got quick service (as unlike inside outside was table service). I got a great bowl of soup and bread and my husband got a very tasty wrap of some sort. We would suggest this nice little cafe for a good breakfast or lunch or both!Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are delighted you enjoyed yourself so much the first time that you returned.You are correct in saying that not only do we have seating in the main cafe but also our rear room (which you have to go outside to access) and of course our outside seating for when the weather permits! It’s only fair to point out though that all areas of the cafe are table service. Thank you again for your great review - all the staff very much appreciate it.

Bed linen was beautifully clean and crisp. Beautiful old property which has been refurbished. Located about 3 miles from Stirling so a car is really essential. Lots of free parking on site.Full Scottish breakfast of a high standard was included in the price.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Unlike a number of old properties we have stayed in it was kept warm at all times.There were a few cobwebs which housekeeping need to attend to but nothing to concern us.Overall impressed and we will visit again.
