Country Pub and Restaurant serving freshly prepared food ranging from pub favourites, Sunday Roasts and daily Specials, ales from local breweries with large garden and play area and an open log fire for the chilly days.
On a lovely sunny day we decided to eat outside. Last roastof the season we thought. The food was cold as we got it. They should really heat the plates. Large chunk of stewing beer which was rare and not pleasant to each cold. Very fatty. Tiny portion of veg and Yorkshire pudding dried out. Gravy was a kind of sugary treacle. Overall the roast didn't taste of anything. £15 is probably the going rate but it didn't seem like good value for money.

The 3 star Chequers Inn Hotel and Restaurant has 29 beautiful bedrooms, each retaining the charm of a 17th century coaching inn. They are designed using modern furnishings which still complement the charm of the surrounding countryside. You can choose to
Overpriced food for what you end up with. Staff were friendly and helpful.Ordered Ribeye steak, had to saw through ,, very tough and unable to completely chew, extremely disappointing . I did complain and they took it off the bill.Would not bother going back.

Relax and enjoy great beers, fine wines and perhaps a lunch time sandwich or a succulent meal.
We stopped here for an impromptu Sunday lunch, and had a great meal. Service was great, staff were really friendly. Food was delicious and came out promptly. We had the calamari and brie to start and both went for the cola ribs and they were so yum! Would definitely recommend. I would say this is more resurant than pub and would think it would be lovely for an evening meal.

We called in here for a meal after visiting Cliveden and from the moment we opened the door the welcome was friendly. The new owners have refurbished the place and are great hosts. We ate a delicious meal - there is a decent choice on the menu and the portion sizes were perfect.

The Cliveden Dining Room was originally the Drawing Room of the house and is a stunning south-facing spacious room which radiates with sunlight and looks out over the nineteenth-century Parterre, the gardens and River Thames. Its classical elegance and fi
The hotel lounge was lovely along with the grounds, the service was excellent and they were all very attentive. We have eaten in this lovely country pub and restaurant a few times now and have never been disappointed. The service is friendly and efficient, the decor is just lovely and the food is delicious. We had a table outside this time and what I love is that those tables were dressed just as nicely as the ones inside. There is a good attention to detail and standards that seems to remain across the years. We will be back! Thanks for your kind review Jane, we love offering people an experience beyond their expectations so we can keep seeing the same smiling faces returning time and time again. Our Summer service in the garden is quite special, but if you are looking to see something exceptional, you should see us at Christmas! The Bel & the Dragon team.

Whilst visiting Cookham decided to call in this cosy pub for dinner. We hadnât made a reservation but the nice guy behind the bar found us a table. The eating area inside isnât massive but is comfortable and the food we ordered was delicious. I had the fish and chips and my husband opted for the homemade pie. We visited on a Wednesday evening and it was busy. There appeared to be a lot of locals just having a drink which is a good sign these days. Anyway, enjoyed our first visit and found the staff to be friendly. Will visit again in the future.

Bridging the gap between country inn & local restaurant The White Oak is an independent and contemporary 'Gastro Pub' where the kitchen & service sets out to please. A L Carte & Set menus also decent value (£15/19 for two/three courses at lunch and dinner

We had a great value Travelzoo voucher for 2 courses and a glass of fizz. The setting is idyllic, the young staff are lovely and very efficient and the food is fabulous. As we walked in I saw the Thai menu and assumed it was only available on certain nights, so was very pleased to be given this menu as well as the standard one as it was included in the deal. The curry was very pleasingly hot (maybe too much for some people but perfect for me!). A great place, and I hope to return.
