The gold medal went to the comparatively modest starter: raw sea bass on a base of crunchy slaw with creamy kotsuobushi flavoured mayonnaise droplets. Fabulous fillet of beef, beautiful meat perfectly cooked served with charred (carrot cooked on embers) and borderlaise sauce. Pear tart for pudding got the bronze but still Olympic standard (should have had the chocolate cake!)Super Pinot noir by the glass and good choice of non alcoholic drinks. Friendly greeting, service and good send-off. Nicer ambience in the dining room than I remember from last time (though canât pin down why).

Finally visited here during our holiday and can totally see what all the fuss is about. Busy, buzzing, cosy atmosphere and quite simply the most delicious breakfast Iâve ever had! My husband says it was his best too and heâs even older than me! And REALLY fussy! The hash browns were heavenly! And what a great price too! Spot on. Well done to Ben and all the staff!

I live locally and wanted to impress my visiting youngest daughter. Iâve eaten at various establishments so wanted to take her somewhere different. Iâd spotted this place driving past so decided to check it out, menu looked good. Lovely restaurant, felt welcomed and very comfortable. Not too busy and so staff were attentive. The food was lovely, but the confusion was not helpful. Several staff offered advice but each different. Took a leap of faith and ordered a seafood platter- not enough for 3, even as a starter. Tapas ordered to accompany the platter, mixed responses. Still hungry, desserts needed. Lovely! Espresso Martini not so good- sorry, expected more for the money. I will go back, but will be ordering old style- starters, main etcThe food is lovely, staff are lovely.

Very pretty and very clean. Without doubt the best (not just one of) cream teas in Cornwall home made, lots of and served beautifully on pretty china. Lots of other scummy food on the menu from huge breakfast to snack all served by friendly, smiling staff. There is also a holiday park which, apart from the badly designed small, noisy, coin operated showers is very clean, tidy and well laid out. Lots of lovely cliff and beach walks in a quiet beautiful location . Looking forward to returning many more times

Wow the best breakfast my partner and I have had in a while also stop here for lunch a few days later and couldn't fault it at all Service was excellent and very friendlyThe cafe serves fresh good quality food the menu has a lot to offerit also has a litte gift shop inside and you can also by home made jams and chutneys which the marmalade is amazing

I can't believe that with over 40 years of experiencing Cornish Culnary delights that this was my first visit to this establishment having been open for over 20 years.It was an outstanding eating experience with excuisite food, fine wines, relaxed atmosphere and warm and friendly professional staff.I have to commend them for the light and fluffy fish cakes with watercress sauce served with beautifully prepared and presented fresh vegetables. No need to battle into busy Padstow; trying to get parked; the Ivy House Restaurant Is easily accesssble.Try it and fall in love with it.

We rang for a table at the last minute. Explaining it was our last night of our holiday and that we had to dogs we were told that they would try and move some tables around and call us back. Sure enough, with 5 minutes we got the call to say they could fit us in. They were so accommodating and we were so thankful. We sat outside on the elevated terrace and caught a beautiful sunset over Harlyn - stunning! This was matched by the friendliness of the staff and the food. Both were exceptional, so much so that we stayed for 3 courses and a few rounds of drinks that we didnât anticipate doing. The restaurant in on a holiday park so is busy but there is plenty of parking and clear signs to follow to get to the restaurant. I couldnât fault the place, the setting, the food or the staff. Plus it was very dog friendly which was another plus point for us. Wow... thank you, such kind words which mean alot. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2020.

An unassuming exterior, simple but smart interior and such tasty food.Great service, very friendly and efficient.My wife had 2 specials , sardines starter and Gurnard mains- both reported to be delicious.I have goats cheese starter and cannelloni mains - very tasty indeed.We got to park right outside.Well worth the 2 miles trip out of Padstow.Man meets mountain Malbec ( wine ) also delicious. Thoroughly recommended!

We came here on the 20th October for our wedding anniversary meal. After reading the reviews I thought 2 bad reviews, the rest brilliant - and it wasn't so big inside so we were expecting a more personal approach. This is not what we got. We ordered drinks and our meal at 7.02. The bar man said he would bring my cocktail over ASAP. 30 mins later still no cocktail!! My husband had finished half his drink! The barman looked busy so we assumed he was making the cocktail, no he went away from the bar and wiped tables!! We then said "excuse me, we are still waiting for a cocktail" he replied yes I know!!! He then came over with the cocktail which was mostly ice! The food - whilst that was quicker than the drinks HA - the burger I ordered was very rare. Almost still mooing! Then we noticed I was missing my onion rings - I didn't dare mention this as I thought I'd have a snappy reply. £41 - for a upscale Wetherspoons. We did enjoy the décor.
