We went for a long muddy dog walk in the Wyre Forest and did wonder if it would be open at this time of the year. It was and we had a wonderful filling lunch of turkey and ham pie with soup to start. We sat by the log fire and were the only customers as we arrived after two. It was great and just what we needed. Thoroughly recommended Thank you for your review Staffspublover. We're glad you had a pleasant visit.

We had one of the tastiest Sunday roast lunches ever ! Plenty of different vegetables, nice crispy roasties, choice of 3 meats - turkey, beef or pork or all 3 ( thick slice of each ) for same price. Adult £8.95 or small adult ( 2 slices neat) for only £7.45! There’s also a cheaper child’s size on offer. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly efficient staff in a traditional country pub. This was our second lunch there in recent months and both excellent!

The Courtyard

We ate at The Courtyard with friends. On arrival, we were told that there would be a 35 minute wait for food, despite have reserved a table. Hardly the best welcome on a mid-week evening. 20 minutes after ordering, we were told that one of the selected mains was no longer available and we would need to choose again. It would have been good to have know this when we arrived. When we left, we noticed that most of the specials had sold out.A number of our group had the salmon salad. The salmon was tasty but the difference in the portion size was huge, with one serving having virtually nothing. The salad was more of a garnish than a salad. Burgers are ok but the buns went soggy quickly. The service didn’t improve during the meal with a wine bottle virtually dropped onto the table, not opened and no offer to pour. The staff started to pack up the restaurant before we finished eating with windows being being slammed closed. This was a weekday evening so we weren’t late. We wouldn’t eat here again.

Dined here today for lunch, i have to say that I haven't got a problem with dogs in pubs, but I'm sorry in my opinion dogs in restaurants are a no no. For almost two hours today we had to endure a yapping dog belonging to the people on the table behind us whilst we ate our lunch. Onto the food I had the cod and chips and to say that the fish tasted strange is an understatement. It was awful, whether it was cod is questionable. I also had a pint of Butty Bach and that was dire as well. All in all not a pleasant experience and I for one will not be rushing back to the Button Oak anytime soon.

Lovely location but sadly it ends there.By 4.20pm this Sunday afternoon they had run out of a number of quite standard ingredients. To be quite honest, if they can't replenish simple ingredients they are either bone idle or incompetent. We dined elsewhere at an establishment that were clearly passionate about their business.

Good food as always, I've been for my birthday and other occasions, and always around 10 ish at night the staff start hovering to clear away and take payment , no problem, but if you are still chatting and want another drink, we have had to scrap around for cash, as staff have cashed up!! My friend who is all in the pub/restaurant trade, could not believe what she was witnessing, as she said " whilst there are customers willing to pay, why the early cashing up, even before the 11.00 pm licence law " - once again this happened last week. Friends I tell are amazed and are put off. Such a shameHi JulieTshropshire. Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the food, we take pride in the food we offer. I thank you for raising the comments about the 'cashing up' and will be investigating this issue as I was not aware. Please be reassured that this will be dealt with and shall not arise again. May I request in future that you contact myself at the pub and discuss this directly rather than post on here.Much appreciated.

Merchants Fish Bar

We decided to sample the fish, chips and mushy peas whilst on a coach trip to Bewdley and it had to be 5 stars. We were made to feel very welcome from the time we walked in to when we left. My mom had the oap special which was fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and cup of tea or coffee for £6.20 and i thought moms portion would be smaller than mine but it was exactly the same size. Fish batter was light and fluffy and chips and peas were lovely. Only negatives they didn't have any fresh roe for mom but she enjoyed her special anyway. In fact she didn't manage the bread and butter so the ducks had a treat. They hadn't got any battered creme eggs which was a pity but i would have had to have them to take away as i was stuffed after our meal. Would definitely recommend a visit and will definitely visit again ourselves.

Great to eat here as , it was interesting to view all the many artefacts that hung from the ceiling !Starve yourself before coming here as , you have to eat a 'Starter, a Main and a Dessert ' at £22.95 as , there is a set menu ! Personally speaking , I did not want to eat that much but ,the chef tailored everything to smaller portions for me ! What we chose to eat , from the menu was , really delicious ! Well done Chef !

What a gem of a place. Tucked away, please search out as so worth it. Lovely interior, friendly staff & the homemade quiche with salad was delightful. Great coffee for the experts So impressed with the selection of cakes on show that we paid it a second visit in the same day & sampled the scones warm light & yummy. We saw the afternoon teas being served & wow they looked enormous & a super variety. Will definitely try that next visit to Bewdley. Small & quirky but independent & in keeping with historic Bewdley. Give it a try what's not to like?Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. We are glad you enjoyed your time at Clementines and look forward to seeing you again to hopefully sample the afternoon tea!
