We stumbled upon Ganzo on our way to our hotel, and we are so glad we decided to stop by! Great service (we had a nice chat with Alessandro, thanks for your recommendations on what to order). And the food was delicious. We had the tagliatelle al uovo with truffles, burgers and pizzas, it was all excellent. It was before Christmas so a lot of families and large groups of people having a great time.Dear Elsa,Many thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant. It is not easy to find this restaurant, and does not work on Mondays. But it worth the effort to find it every other day except Monday,( :-( as we did at first). Pasta with ragu of cingiale (wild boar) is recommended by local residents. I took the pasta with truffles, there is no lapse in that order. Cotoletta fiorentina, above average that I had in Tuscany restaurants. Staff was friendly and willing to explain and suggest all about the food. PS: the only foreigners in the whole restaurant were four of us, we were surrounded by Italians. PPS: Sitting in the open part, may not be bad to be sprayed by AUTAN, mosquito protection, I was not bitten, but my wife did.

Partendo dal presupposto che siamo in una città che dice tanto in Toscana per qualità della carne e tradizioni, il locale in sè è anche carino, con scarsi servizi (unico bagno per uomini, donne e disabili). Servizio anche mediocre, appena arrivati e fatti accomodare nessuno che ci serve un poâ dâacqua, pane o anche solamente il menù. Vero punto forte posso dire sono: la carta dei vini (complimenti) e la chianina (certificata 5R) per il resto tutto molto scarso, antipasto di 25â¬!! davvero misero tenendo in considerazione il prezzo e tra lâaltro senza pappa al pomodoro cosa che sulla carta invece câera scritto, primi piatti sciapidi e che veramente mancavano di sapore, tartar di carne che risultava dura e davvero difficile da spezzare, senza anche un minimo di personalizzazione/condimento allâinterno, quali: capperi, sale, pepe, olio etc. contorni classici toscani come Patate al forno, ceci etc che finiscono in itinere e che vengono cambiati con delle patatine fritte; qualità della carne buona ma fatta bruciare tantissimo, tanto da diventare un tizzone nero. Prezzi nella media, nulla di eccezionale anche i dolci. Câè di meglio a San Miniato.

Well, what an interesting establishment this is. Being a family butchers ourselves we couldn't wait to try this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The first night we tried to get in it was full so we booked for the next night. It is a shame at this time of year you don't really get to see the stupendous view on an evening - we just to say caught the last of daylight but it is still a lovely room at the front. The other rooms are interesting too as there is so much butchery/meat stuff to look at. Our waitress was charming and although her English wasn't fluent it was still way better than our Italian and we had a lovely meal of charcuterie, vegetable lasagne, beef casserole and pork cutlet. The prices were very low and the quality was expectional. We got to meet the owner and have a little chat about our various butchery businesses and he was a lovely interesting chap. Non butchers would also love it. :)

If you want pasta or pizza don't go there. A set menu of 4 courses all meaty( not dessert) . Fab. Sitting on balcony watching g the world go by as eating the most delicious antipasto of local meat selection, followed by steak cooked perfectly ( blue to pink) . What a way to end our wedding trip to San Miniato.

I was told to go for Ragu for the Tagliatelle I had just learned to hand roll and cut.It was delicious.. there are 2 sides.. the meat shop and the small restaurant that is packed at lunch...Give it a try if you can get in...

I really liked the pace! I am from Spain and l went there for a couple of days with my girl friend! The room and food where fantactic!
