I saw this place many times and really wanted to try it. I wasn't thrilled by the experience and I'll not repeat. I want to mention that the references to typical Trieste cooking style in the website are misleading (there are some typical dishes, but the main focus of the restaurant appears to be the Tuscan style grilled meat, e.g. fiorentina).Service was OK, kind enough but nothing special (slow at times, food came in a bit scattered). The weirdest service choice was the mixed grilled meat served in two parts (really: here goes the first half of the mixed grill, hey here goes the second half). The food as well was OK but nothing special. I personally had as starter a "sformatino" that was mostly bacon with some sauce: super hard to digest. As main course I had "filetto con lardo di colonnata" that was OK, but not fantastic (the meat was a bit hard, the "lardo" was too thick and cold, didn't really turn into a buttery delicacy as it should). House wine was good. I found the atmosphere extremely disappointing: the meat is grilled in the main room of the restaurant, which is not particularly large and doesn't seem to have AC. We had the misfortune of sitting in front of it and it was so warm, "I wanna faint" kind of hot. This is definitely enough to make for an overall bad dinner.Prices are on the high side, considering that quality and ambience are not amazing.

One of the best ribs I have tried. Really tender and juicy meat with caramelized onions and BBQ sauce served with fries and coleslaw. Couldnât decide which ribs were better, ones with caramelized onions or with mustard. Really big portions and decent prices. We will definitely come back!

This was a wonderful evening, a great ambience, superb cuis8ne, a mini filet mignon with foie gras to start, flambeed before your eyes, and the wine list is also great..recommend the cheese fused tagliata with bread rumbs, and donât miss their chantilly desserts. Highly recommended. Wonderful service too.

This restaurant was recommended by a male friend, so I wasn't surprised by the gigantic meat portions they offer. Everything else was disappointing. We waited 15 minutes for the staff to spot us, even though the place was almost empty. When I asked for my leftovers to be packed to go, the waitress brought tin foil and left it on the table for me to pack the food myself. I felt like I was transported 30 years back in time and it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

I'm abstemious and penurious with the "circles" I give out in reviews. Unfortunately, a 3-circle review on Trip Advisor brings the average down; 5-circle reviews occur too frequently and result in "grade inflation." This is a very, very good 3-circle restaurant that I rate 4-circles here because of the way people use the system.The meats (veal and steak) are very good and the restaurant goes out of its way to note that the viands come from famed provisioner Dario Cecchini way down in Tuscany! A diner should feel good about a restaurant that goes out if its way to procure quality products.The service was prompt and attentive. The ambiance is not luxurious but quite comfortable. The restaurant is about a 10 - 11 ⬠cab ride from center city.
