I celebrated a significant birthday here with 25 friends. They couldnât have been more helpful with organising and running the party for me!Huge thanks to Caroline and your fabulous attentive team who kept us partying till the early hours. Great food and cocktails served with a smile and a genuine warmth. Vertigo is the place to go out in Truro and weâll be back again soon!Big thanks x

I booked a table by phone and was surprised to find the Pub restaurant almost empty. We were worried whether this was because the food was not up to much but were in for a surprise.The roast lamb with vegetables we ordered was lovely and rich, very tasty.Quite a different experience from other Sunday roasts in town recently, which haven't been up to scratch one way or another, from lukewarm or uncrispy roast potatoes or swimming in gravy.We found out later that the Pub had only just restarted offering Sunday lunches.Definitely worth another visit or two.

I went here with my family for lunch, some had been there before and recommended it. The staff were really friendly and very welcoming. We all ordered the open sandwiches which all looked and tasted amazing. The portions were generous and looked tasty. Overall the value for money was very impressive and it would be hard to find a lunch meal to that standard. Also the coffee was really nice and well balanced, usually there far to strong in other cafes or pubs.Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit. 12of us went for a meal. We pre ordered using the menus on line. Apparently there are different menus on different pages and some of our pre orders werenât on the one they use???? If it doesnât work get rid of the wrong one!!,!! so 2 people ordered the sirloin steak............ both medium cooked, one was cooked ok the other was rare!? Both were very fatty and chewy, so much in fact nearly half the steak wasnât eatable! The other meals were ok but nothing great. The staff...... one girl was very enthusiastic, the guys not so much. We ordered drinks , but had to ask for more as we werenât asked if we wanted more? I thought it was common practice to keep asking for extra drinks? We had to ask for a desserts menu, which took a while to ask as everyone disappeared out the back? We were the only people upstairs so canât understand why we were left so long? Anyway the desserts came and were very nice. We did mention the steaks and must admit we didnât pay for then ........ although we were charged for the steak sauce???? All in all the company was great so it wasnât a total disaster, but shanât be rushing back anytime soon! When one of the party reported there was a leak in the bathroom, the guy said, oh the plummets due soon weâll add it to the list! Felt like they wanted us to leave so they could go home. one of our group was a celliac and there was only fish and chips ( without batter) available for them, so no choice at all, there used to be burgers but that has changed

Never thought of having lunch here for some strange reason and only ever been in at night time for drinks! Well what a mistake that has been after years of being in Truro! Very good menu presenting a wide range of options and fair to say something for everyone. Service was prompt and polite and having ordered food soon arrived. Three different options, hot sandwich and two different wraps. All were tasty, cooked and presented excellently!Prices very reasonable and left full and satisfied. Definitely a return visit and gutted not been in before! Donât make the same mistake I did and only think of Zafiros as a night time drink option!Thanks for leaving us such a great review ACKERS74, We're glad you thought of having lunch with us and that you had such a good visit! Visited today for lunch. On arriving we were told to sit where we liked. There were 2 staff front of house. There were only a small party of people in the lower area and 2 women with a young child who arrived just before us, and they only ordered chips. The service was slow, the 2 staff seemed more concerned on getting set up for the evening and doing a table plan than concentrating on customers already there. Bearing in mind this was 1.30pm. The chap spent almost the whole time we were there on the phone, the girl who served us didnât ask us how our food was before weâd finished, and on clearing our table simply asked âshall I take these awayâ rather than was everything ok with your meal?We were not asked if weâd like dessert or coffee or any more drinks. Getting attention to pay was even a struggle. Iâm surprised people donât do a runner to be honest. We were only asked if everything was ok when we were paying. A bit late then. This is my second visit in a month (with daughters) when things were very different, a lovely young man served us who was most polite and attentive, and the food was better quality. Itâs a lovely place with delicious food, but we felt invisible to say the least. We both work in the tourist trade and if it were busy weâd understand, but this was very offhand service from both staff members, and for £35 for 2 mains and 2 drinks there is plenty more choice in Truro.

recently came across this food outlet.....as soon as you step inside its apparent that you are about to taste and enjoy people who enjoy what they do....the person who made us welcome ( Jade) she was friendly letting us know what's on the menu and the different types of drinks available...the service was excellent as was the food....that taste of there burger was brilliant, as we settle in the amount of people entering was crazy thank goodness they also are able to sit you outside too....and the friendly staff were also great.....enjoy and say cheese.....

I met up with son and hos partner on sunday the 13/19/19 nad decided to eat at the Heron. a lovely location but the food was not up to much, my son ordered a steak with a sauce his steak was ok but the sauce tasted nothing like it should it was tasteless cheesy flavor awful, he asked for a replacement it came back the same, my sons partners meal was fine, but my own meal a steak. I ordered med/rare which it was but it was so tough I couldn't even cut the steak with the so called steak knife, i paid nearly £80 very poor value.the plate was sparce with a mushroom with a few cherry toms some chips and the steak. The whole meal ,lacking in vision and quality, I drove all the way from Liskeard I wish I had used a local resturaunt..Thank you for your well written review. I have spoken to my team who served you on the night, who went to at length to make sure your party were happy. Your description of our steak is incorrect as you missed out the battered onion rings and lambs leaf lettuce that was served with your steak? Our meat is sourced locally and if any issues, we will always try to rectify these as soon as we are made aware. You forgot to mention that your meal was actually refunded and yet you still feel compelled to leave a poor review??As for the vision and quality of our steak, we are a refined restaurant that strives on quality for all our customers. Perhaps The Heron Inn is not to your liking.

I had a lovely birthday supper where staff really made me feel special, with a complimentary glass of fizz and a lovely wrapped bag of homemade traybake to take home - a really lovely touch and showed their attention to detail as well as great customer service.The pub is quite delightful, atmospheric and quaint with many small areas to sit and drink and eat, though there is a small dining room at the back.Food was well cooked and delicious - our party tended to have fish of the day and steak and a vegetarian dish all being tasty and quite large portioned. Certainly one of the best dining places in Truro. It has a great bar with many selections of gin and wine and beer.
