Given a lot of the reviews that we had read we were both somewhat disappointed by our meal. Compared to other Indian restaurants local to us in Milton Keynes this would have been more pricey but less authentic or satisfying. The restaurant is pretty tired, service was good but much of the food was bland.

We have never been disappointed with meals from Akbar Balti, whether ordering takeway or eating in. We actually ate in this time and having not been since the redecoration loved how they had made it lighter and brighter without losing the friendly atmosphere. All three of us had chicken tikka in various sauces, masala, kashmiri and passanda with boiled rice, pilau rice and a peshwari naan. The food was wonderful as usual and the house red wine very drinkable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and their service was attentive without being excessive.

Great foodGreat staffShame the tablemats are all scratched and chipped- doesnât really look good and please replace the table runners too - stained and drab looking.Would suggest lighter colours to brighten the whole look of the tables.Otherwise a very welcoming place to dine.

Myself and my husband have been eating here for around 12 years, eating in or take away.The food is freshly cooked and would highly recommend the chicken korma. Donât go anywhere else for Indian food.

Went with a work colleague after an event. Really warm and lovely owners. Had a mixture of items which were sall super. Very modern and chic looking Indian restaurant. Staff attentive and helped us with choosing our meals. Food was of a very high standard, most enjoyable. One issue, considering only a few tables were taken it took a long time to eventually receive our main meals. Will give it another try though.

Took our son for a family meal for his 21st birthday. Staff were excellent, extremely attentive and happily catered for for all our requests about table and presentation. The food was excellent and presented to a very high standard, we couldn't have asked for more and the price was very reasonable.
