Came for lunch during the week. The four of us ordered quite a bit of food to try. Starting with soups, salads, appetizers, to entrees. Most notably were the escargots, and the seafood terrine. the escargots were tasteless swimming in a cream sauce, the pastry was soggy----- not good. The seafood terrine was spoiled, smelled of ammonia, why serve it? you smelled it 5 meters away. One of my best meals I ever had. The atmosphere is amazing. The whole concept is great. You get to eat all kinds of food as seafood, vegetables, meat, noodles... You must ask for the noodles, because someone will come and do an amazing show for you. If you are in Tj and haven't been in Haidilao, you can't go!

Dined here a few times, including a Sunday brunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the decor, service, and atmosphere. On a clear day you can go out and enjoy the beautiful views of the Hai River. Compared to other hotels in Tianjin such as the Astor or the Westin or the Sheraton, the food options are not as plenty but the quality is unbeatable, especially the dessert. There's also foreign staff working in the restaurant so it creates a fairly international dining environment. So let's talk price first: dinner for two was over 300 RMB without drinks, which is above average for China. So my expactations for the food were high. Unfortunately, this restaurant completely failed to satisfy in all respects.My chicken satay were completely flavourless, with not a trace of heat or flavour. The 'stir fried' asparagus for 53 RMB was made with canned vegetables and is easily one of the most disgusting dishes I have ever had in my life. Their soup was sour and it tasted like the coconut milk was too old, which is quite a feat considering that stuff lasts forever if properly refrifgerated. At least the prawn dish was passable, but for 98 RMB it had better be!Oh yeah, and the restaurant ambience is compeltely terrible: the place is dirty and small, and has a rank odor. My advise is: AVOID.

Dumpling is a topical and common cinese food...well here never is common!!Definitely the quality is as first place, no compromise!Their speciality, the dumpling are prepared in a lot of version with different ingredients (obviously, according to cinese traditional kitchen) and is difficult to choose the favorite one.Also the other discs have an excellent quality, I strongly suggest to test the mushroom sup carry on a typical green tea.

Very overrated for what is a half empty bar charging very expensive prices for pretty average drinks. Staff were great! Very friendly, helpful! Very accommodating. The breakfast had a good variety for Chinese people. Would not say it was good for Western people. It had the basics like bacon and eggs etc. However the food was old and not fresh. The sandwich was so old the lettuce was almost paper. (No moisture left) The bacon was like rubber. Not warm, not even room temperature. Anything western that was not cooked in front of you was pretty bad in terms of quality. The food needs to stay hot. Obviously the heat lamps were ineffective and they should be turned up or replaced. Also they need more quality control on some of the dishes they leave out. The sandwiches and other stuff should be replaced or thrown out more often because this is how people get sick, old food left out for a long time. I have been here twice during my stay in the Ritz. Excellent food - seasonal veggies are great, beef cubes and wasabi mayo shrimps are amazing. Steamed chicken with mushrooms and sausage is really good. Really good service. Nice venue - design is so nice. Wine list I have not checked. Guess price is fair for this type of hotel.
