Visited again as itâs very local, been here many times and it never disappoints.Prices have gone up ever so slightly since our last visit, in all fairness if they went up twice more we would still come as itâll still be very good value for money.Beautiful meals freshly prepared and tasting great. Large bottles of cobra to wash it down with, just fantastic.Good selection of food and drinks available to suit all budgets.Great customer service too

Saw it whilst in the area previously, it looked enticing and reviews were positive so popped in after shoppingVery welcoming staff, wide variety of food choices, more pricey than your traditional Asian but then the quality was better. Tempura veg and crispy duck starters were excellent. Mains were a tad dry, they needed more sauce but overall a lovely experience - definitely going again

1st time there tonight, had vegetarian thaliâs, very nice and very authentic. I would challenge there is better street food restaurant in Cardiff (have reviewed and eat there regularly) but this is very strong competition. We will visit again & happily recommend. Eat real Indian street food not British rubbish Indian curries.

We went here last night purely based on the reviews, as we aren't from the area. The reviews are right, it was amazing. The service was so friendly from everyone, and the food was excellent. We had the tasting menu 1, and we thought everything was delicious. Our only regret was having the poppadoms and homemade pickles to start with, they were lovely, but we were ridiculously full by the end of the night. Thank you to everyone there for making us feel so welcome.

After receiving dreadful service & quality from the nearby competitor Nahin Spice Centre ( AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE) I decided to give this place a try.I wanted to order-order starters (canapés) for 40 people as I had a pre 6 nations rugby lunch the following day. Owner was present and together with all staff they gave outstanding service & advice.We picked take-away up at 12.30 and food quality was superb. 40 very happy eaters asking where we got food from.We will definitely use this place again, indeed as a local I canât believe Iâve never been before! Itâs very good.

Authentic, fresh and delicious. The ginger beef and mince pork dishes we had were very hot although not described this way on the specials board so just be wary. Yellow curry was lovely, as was the calamari. We are so happy to have such a fab thai take away local.

Iâve been visiting Castle Gate regularly since it opened, but last Friday evening was the first time Iâve sampled their new vegan menu. Four out of the party of six that enjoyed our birthday celebrations ordered from the new vegan menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, the drinks and the general ambience. As ever, the staff were friendly and attentive and, overall, we had a fantastic evening. I would wholly recommend fellow vegans to try the new menu but would also say that the original menu still offers a wide variety of non-vegan dishes that will suit everyoneâs tastes.
