One of the capitals of the Hoysala dynasty, Belur is renowned for its magnificent Hoysala temple architecture. The major attraction here is the Chennakesava Temple built by Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana, to commemorate his victory over the Cholas. It is the only Hoysala temple still in active use for worship. The temple stands on a platform and has exquisite art work on its outer walls, with bracket figures of dancing girls in various poses, carved to perfection. The other equally impressive monuments are the temples of Chennigaraya, Viranarayana, Sridevi and Bhoodevi, all in the same complex. Karnataka Hotels, Belur is literally a five minute walk from the temple complex and ideally located for those seeking to spend more time admiring the beauty of the temples. The hotel's 13 rooms include a suite as well as air-conditioned and non air-conditioned options. A restaurant and bar completes the facility.

We booked 2 villas for 2 nights at this place. When we reached the place, none of the amenities that are mentioned were present. We had to call them multiple times to get even basic toiletries . After half an hour of stay, the light went off and there was no power for about 2 hours. And their way of making up for all of this is offering free foot massages, instead of solving the problems. Even after my husband screamed at them, the evening coffee took 1 hour to arrive from the time of ordering. Later in the night, we discovered that one of the bathroom windows were not present which caused insects to enter our bathroom making it impossible to use. Next day morning, again there was no light in our room. After informing them about this issue, we got a call full 1 hour later asking us to change rooms. When we told them that we were just about to leave for an outing, he kept pestering us to shift then and there. In the evening, it rained for 15-20 mins and the roof started leaking in one of the rooms. Also, the room had lot of basic things missing at the time of check-in: basic toiletries, bedside table, fan, wifi, clean swimming pool, electric kettle Will never recommend this place to everyone. They are running a cheap place in name of resort.

Location Hotel Samanvi International is located in Belur and is very close to the Sree Bhiraveswara temple. Extensive wooden decor and unique wallpaper in every room makes for a pleasant experience. There is also a common seating lounge and a beautiful in-house restaurant serving fresh meals. The hotel has round-the-clock power backup, AC and television. The famous Indian Coffee House is located close to the hotel. South Indian food lovers can dine at the Samrudhi and Ganesha Dosa corner.
One should not judge a book by it's cover. This is true in case of Samanvi International Hotel,Belur. We stayed for a day . Here on return you carry pleasent memories of nice Suite rooms, delicious food from restaurant below, and smiling people to serve you.

If you like a very noisy hotel (heavy traffic, poorly soundproved), if you estimate the feeling to be cheated (the confirmed room is not available, therefore you have to pay more) and if you don‘t need to rely of the hotel-informations - credit Card are not accepted, than choose this hotel. You might immense overpay a day-trip, booked in the hotel, but in exchange you get less to see (we complained, then we could visit the temples, which we haven‘t seen on tour, yet we had to drive a long way back again.

I will say this is the worst ever stay in my life. Staff behaviour was bad(I am not even sure that Boy was the Staff). Room and bathroom were very dirty , after complaining also they were not ready to solve the issue. Room was very small.

A beautiful resort with spacious cottages, located on the backwaters of Wattehole dam and amidst plush greenery. The food was delicious and had great variety (north and south indian dishes). Fun activities include rope climbing, bonfire, and swimming. The staff was helpful and welcoming. Special appreciation for Akshaya (the go-to person) and Darshan, who managed everything tirelessly with a smile. Enjoyed the blissful stay. Highly recommended!
