Best hotel ever!!!

We've stayed here a few times over the last couple of years, and it never disappoints. The staff are all fantastic, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We brought our 2 dogs, one of which is a rescue we've only had for a few weeks and she's very reactive. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful. They reserved the same table in the restaurant for us everyday as they know we feel comfortable there and the dogs are (mainly!) quiet. The rooms are all superb, decorated to a very high standard and extremely clean. The food is just amazing!! And very reasonable. And the service at meal times is outstanding. All the staff know exactly what they're doing, it's like a well oiled machine. Thank you all for another great week away. Can't wait until our next trip in October.

Ravenstone Lodge

Ravenstone Lodge is a converted 19th Century stables & lodge with many original features including the stables themselves which are now the bar. Situated at the foot of Ullock Pike close to Skiddaw with views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the Northern Fells we are perfectly positioned to explore the Northern Lake District. Ravenstone Lodge is a privately small hotel with just 9 bedrooms and because of this we can provide a uniquely personal service and when you stay with us you are not just a room number but are our guests in the true meaning of the word. Because of this many return time and time again, maybe requesting their favourite room or that a particular dish be put on the menu. Food is very important to us and our philosophy is very simple, top quality locally sourced ingredients cooked to order by our resident chef with sufficient choice to satisfy all tastes. We look forward to welcoming you to Ravenstone Lodge. Mike Cornish - Proprietor

I love armithwaite ive been coming for over 29 years , but I do think that the hotel needs to sort the food out as the dinner there was always exquisite and had gone down dramatically ans so has the breakfast which is a shame, but the grounds are amazing and I love the spa

Disappointing

Reviewed By Weaholt

Looked forward to visiting after reading the menu online. The food sounded quite above the average pub offerings with choices like Seanad and seafood linguine. The pub itself was lovely inside, very cosy and welcoming. The staff were also friendly. Unfortunately, the food we ordered wasn’t as good as we had hoped. The linguine with clams, chilli and fresh herbs had little to no taste. The sea bass dish was also lacking. There was just one dish which was good which was the sausage, mash and greens. That was really delicious. I doubt that we would visit again if in the area, if we did it would just be for drinks , definitely not for food, which was also quite overpriced for the quality and flavour.

Posh Poss

Stated in the Dodd very comfortable but not suitable for anyone with mobility problems due to being on top of a steep hill, bathroom has clear glass in window so needs a blind fir people dignity as there was children next door running round the back which is not ideal but nothing to stop them. Ideal fir anyone like us who is not into camping as the kids have all the facilities you need . Only negative customers should not have to take their rubbish in their own personal vehicle at the end of their stay down to the farm Ut is too far to wslk with it and it is certainly not hygienic so this certainly needs addressed. All in all a nice stay just outside Keswick and the lakes areas

Stunning location and facilities

Reviewed By robertbR6249JD

Just got back from a 2 night stay in one of Highside's glamping pods with the missus and 2 kids. The location first off is perfect, the view from out the front of the pods takes your breath away. Perfect spot for a sunset too. Online check in is simple and fast allowing you quick access to the pod. Once in the pod the facilities and standard is excellent. The pod we stayed in (Carl Side) had really cool bunk beds perfect for the kids. The main double is super comfy. The owners leave out a good supply of tea, coffee, sugar, milk as well as some jam and even a small loaf of bread. Loved the fact the pod had a dishwasher, I don't even have one of those at home haha. Other facilities at the pod include a BBQ and Firepit but on this occasion we didn't use those. If we stayed again then we most definitely would do and know that the owners offer packs to get a BBQ or fire pit going. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Thanks for allowing us to sample a few nights in your beautiful location.
