Snug retreat with superb food

Reviewed By frigate

We stayed for three nights in late May while birdwatahing in some very cold, inclement weather, and the Cairn was just what you wanted to return to every afternoon. Although the room was a little dated it was a good size, extremely clean, and very comfortable. Unusually for me, I slept well. There was plenty of storage and a comfy sofa, not to mention some high quality biscuits to go with the tea and coffee. The staff were lovely. It may be my imagination, but the staff we met here and, indeed, in other hotels/B&Bs have been a huge asset to the establishments. Those at the Cairn were exceptional. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I'm going to review the food separately. It was excellent.

Jubilee break

Reviewed By roberjAberdeenshire

Husband and I treated our elderly mother to a jubilee break. We had a round of golf whilst she enjoyed watching the celebrations on TV She had a small but comfortable single room. The TV didn’t work but staff quickly replaced it when it wasn’t a simple fix. No lift so luckily she was reasonably fit but 2flights was just about her max. Staff pleasant and welcoming Lounge too small and bar more like a dining area Everything was comfortable and food good but I thought accommodation was expensive for an ‘Inn’

Must have caught them on a bad day

Reviewed By Aspect

This was the worst hotel experience during a three week road trip around Scotland. •Room was poorly ventilated as window was non opening. •Cooked breakfast was cold. •Member of staff I dealt with had an awful attitude. This was a very disappointing stay. I have used Premier Inns many times before and have usually found them ok.

Great staff, location and facilities

Reviewed By Gordon M

Jess on reception puts you in a good frame of mind from the get go. Excellent communication and bright personality. Our room was large, huge comfortable bed and quiet. Breakfast was a buffet, which had a good range of cooked and continental choices. Tea or coffee was brought to your table. Dinner in both restaurants was excellent quality and again the staff were plentiful and very helpful, especially Brandon in the Aspects restaurant was a breath of fresh air. Facilities were outstanding as well, and we are about to book a revisit with some of our many grandchildren so they can partake in the grass skiing, ice rink, swimming, soft play etc.

One of My Favorite Hotels on Earth

Reviewed By A2831ZUalexb

Dalrachney Lodge Hotel is a phenomenal hotel. It perfectly combines an old world setting (your picture prefect country home) with modern luxury. Many of the bathrooms have been renovated, and the decorations and food are impeccable. I came for silence and relaxation but got that and much more. I met the wonderful couple who runs Dalrachney, plus their sweet dog Archie, and I discovered a part of the world I'll hope to return to again and again -- while staying at the Dalrachney, of course. Some in the reviews have complained that music isn't played at the bar or during breakfast. Certainly, I suspect the owners would be open to it. They're accommodating people. But, personally, I loved the quiet, having grown tired of the omnipresent music at most hotels, and I appreciate the owners' respect for the natural setting with its bird-calls and nearby river (which can be heard from your room). If you're a solo-traveler like I was, seeking to get away and explore the outdoors without a car (there are miles of hikes nearby), you could do absolutely no better than the Dalrachney Lodge Hotel.

Great stay Fantastic Breakfast

Reviewed By wrensnestred

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in May, all of the staff we met were fantastic, the room was very clean, as was the bathroom, comfortable bed, and great breakfast, what more could you ask for? There is plenty of free parking, and it is just a short walk into the town centre, and although close to the main road we did not hear any traffic noise. We would highly recommend this small hotel/B&B.
