Armação de Pêra is a Portuguese parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Silves. The population in 2011 was 4,867, in an area of 7.99 km². The village used to be called Pêra de Baixo or Lower Pêra to distinguish it from the present Pêra, which was then named Pêra de Cima or Upper Pêra.

Staying in Holiday Inn next door so we thought we would try Restaurant..Atmosphere was good and staff friendly..One point that stood out that there was three of us and all our main meals were spoilt by being too salty..Such a shame..Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed the atmosphere and found our staff friendly, however, we are very sorry to read that you found your food salty, and will investigate this further. Slowly i was getting used to going to a Michelin rated restaurant and had to experience ups and downs which not always confirmed the rating they had. So i actually was expecting not too much when i visited Ocean. How wrong i was!
The dishes served wowwed me and my partner, great taste and splendid presentation , leaving me puzzled how they could make it like that. Together with a very good service with attention for detail confirmed that in this case Michelin was absolutely right. I would make a d-tour for this restaurant.

This place really is a gem; we went back three times and, every time, it was busy when everywhere else was quiet and we could see why. The welcome is superb, the staff and management are genuinely glad to see you and they were knowledgeable and helpful about ingredients and special diets which we really appreciated. The food was excellent. Very highly recommended. Thank you to our lovely waiters.

We had a cold crepe with a scoop of ice cream and sliced banana with caramel sauce €7 in my opinion far too expensive, on the second crepe there was an extra 30 cent for s sprinkling of cinnamon..... really..... in the cheapest cafes the cinnamon is free to shake on a pastel de nata....

Our annual supper here- always excellent. Grilled mackerel,sea bass,sea bream, halibut, salmon, squid- tomatoes salad, bread and potatoes for 14 euros. The fish is fresh and perfectly cooked- just salted and grilled. You can ask for more of any of the varieties. Huge crème caramel or fruit for dessert. Communal tables. Simple but enjoyable. Good staff

This cafe is a must go for breakfast.
Fantastic location, fantastic friendly staff and very good reasonably priced snacks.
Probably the best "english" breakfast in town.
Great place to sit and watch the world go by at almost any time of day.

After a week of all inclusive we wanted to go out for a decent curry, not disappointed here, nice little restaurant in a good spot too.
3 starters (sheek kebab is well spiced)
2 curries (chicken madras pretty hot probably go for vindaloo next time)
1 rice
1 chips
1 garlic naan
Bottle of decent wine
It all came to €47 very good service and good value for money We'll go again before we go home.

Situated on the seafront in the old town, this snack bar/restaurant offers a no frills offering of drinks and snacks, all served on a self service basis.
The place is kept clean & tidy and the friendly efficient service makes for a nice experience, with the staff all speaking very good English.
Superb value for money, which is why we visited several times.

Happened to call in for a quick beer and ended up several hours later still sitting in Jonys bar.
Carlos the owner initially gave us the idea he is a little (or a lot) crazy. However, he sure entertains the customers. He very generously gave us tuna pate and crackers, chips and cake - all complementary.
He had us laughing all afternoon. We returned the next day and had steaks which were really tender and well cooked.
My husband had what he describes as the best lemon meringue cake he's ever had and I had a huge slice of chocolate cake.
We will definitely return and look forward to the banter with Carlos and his staff who are all happy and easy going.
