Almora Hindustani pronunciation: [əlmoːɽaː] is a municipal board and a cantonment town in the Almora district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Almora district. Almora is located on a ridge at the southern edge of the Kumaon Hills of the Himalaya range, at a distance of 365 km from the national capital New Delhi and 415 km from the state capital Dehradun. According to the provisional results of the 2011 national census of India, Almora has a population of 35,513. Nestled within higher peaks of the Himalaya, Almora enjoys a year-round mild temperate climate.

There are not a lot of restaurants in Binsar area and this one stands out because of the location, the restaurant has good ambiance with options of indoor and outdoor Seating options(pics attached). Its located in the premises of "Mohan's Binsar Retreat" which looked like a very decent B&B to me.
We chose to order a mix of Indian food- Roti, Yellow Dal and curry as well as Italian- Chicken Pizza and Chicken Pasta. The Pizza and Pasta were definitely good but were on the pricier side. Indian food were good too and arrived much faster than the Italian food. We felt the Indian preparation was better as compared to the Pizza and Pasta.

We had breakfast in this Inn. It is via Almora to Kasar Devi. As informed by other travellers, there is a cute shop. Did purchase few cards, old books and other items. Of course we had the breakfast. We liked Tomato cheese sandwich;Onion paratha and lemon soda. Sure there would be other items which could be good.
Do not forget to sit and have a cup of tea opposite to the Inn and enjoy the view.

We tried the chicken pasta and a margarita pizza. The pasta had no salt and was very dry, the ketchup used in the margarita pizza wasn’t that great.
They may be using organic ingredients but the food quality needs to be improvised. Try the food at Chandi Maati or DYO organic farm instead.

The location is 3-4 kms away from Almora on the way to Kosi.
The restaurant has decent space to park vehicles. Wash room available. The place is well decorated with flowers. The restaurant has both inside and outside Seating arrangement.
The Food served is like home made, fresh and tasty.Staff is courteous and service is quite fast. Best part is one get away from tandoro roti to tawa roti with hot food served in the cold and scenic location.
Best part is price is very reasonable for the service extended. Full value for money.
Enjoy the place.

This is one of the bigger places for food between Almora and binsar. The snacks like spring roll, chowmein were good. However the main course North Indian items were below average. Also, the fans were not working.

With quite simplistic interiors and outlook Chandi mati cafe ensures that you taste the flavor of the some local food and share a wonderful experience!
So a must try to get a flavor of some authentic Kumaoni food and they also personalize for some specific requirement if need be.The thali is a must try.
Service quite good but they miss the promptness at times.
