Comme son nom ne l'indique pas forcement, La Table du Sommelier est un bistro-gastro de bon rapport qualite-prix dedie au vin. Une table de reference a Albi. Debut 2011, le restaurant s'est agrandi d'une terrasse toute en bois et qui en surprendra plus d'un. Assurement l'une des decos des plus originales de la ville. Daniel Pestre - meilleur sommelier de France en 2004 - et ses sommeliers vous feront decouvrir les tresors caches du vignoble de Gaillac (et d'ailleurs), entre autres le Domaine d'Escausses, l'Enclos des Roses de Denis Balaran ou le Sous Bois de Rayssac (mauzac en version bio), ou un tres elegant Saumur du Chateau de Beauregard. Les vins sont a prix tres raisonnables, ce qui est rare pour etre d'autant plus souligne. Dans l'assiette la cuisine tres originale d'Aurelien Cabrol, mise en bouche delicieuse topinambour, olives et carottes, ensuite un tartare de truite rose au couteau, presse de homard a la grany smith, craquant coulant de feta et cremeux avocat, a suivre un filet de dorade au four creme persillee legumes croquants a l'ail confit et pour terminer le gateau mi-cuit au caramel mou et glace a la noisette, ou un delicieux dessert autour de la pomme.

We had reserved quite a bit in advanced and were seated at the back of the restaurant (which is not very big) next to the wine fridge. Unfortunately they seemed to forget that we were there so it took a long time to order pre-dinner drinks- gin tonics which were generous and delicious. But before they were even finished, they came with the rest of the food. We had ordered wine by the glass in order to taste what they recommended. Unfortunately the Meursault was off, which they apologised for (their nitrogen machine had malfunctioned) and quickly replaced it from a fresh bottle which was very good. The onions in 3 ways was disappointing- the supposed-to-be crispy onions were soggy, and the rest not great. The shrimp dish was OK but not great. Lots of apologies from the owner, which was appreciated, but disappointing overall.

Centrum city restaurant with a nordic decoration( it's normal, the chef is Swedish and his wife is Belgian) You can enjoy the kitchen work thru the long Windows showing the chefs. Cosy and dynamic athmospher. The best place in Albi to travel sitting! We only work with fresh products and most of the time from our rich region. Our wines are "Nature" Our Sommelier : Guillaume Roubet, have received the high distingtion from the Gault Millau guide " The best sommelier 2014 in great South West"

Disappointed at not being able to sit ourtside when we arrived the head waiter made it possible for desert when a table came free. Nice that, and typical of the attention that its customers get. Small menu but execllently cooked. A very highly rated restaurant in Albi by locals and I understand why.

This small restaurant with a limited menu was great value for money. The menu at 25€ offered some really difficult choices. The warm goat's cheese starter was delicious as was the main course - duck cooked three ways. The chocolate mousse was the best I have ever tasted and the mango kiwi and marscapone dessert was equally good. The wine complemented the food and all in all this was a memorable meal. You are advised to book as this place is bound to get more popular.

A small and charming restaurant, owned and operated by a lovely couple: he is French and she is Mexican. Both are so charming, friendly, and delightful. And the food is delicious. We felt completely welcome. This restaurant is so much more delightful than the larger, more traditional restaurants that mostly serve tourists. Do try it. You will not be disappointed! To our astonishment, we paid much less than in other restaurants. You will really get good value for your euros here! Muchas Gracias!

On the opposite side of the river, but convenient for the Mercure Hotel.Along established family run restaurant, probably the best in Albi, Friendly attentive service and very good food.Good choice of local and regional wines at fair prices.

A charming little restaurant with wonderful food and friendly service. Brick walls and arches create a warm atmosphere; a pass-through opening facilitates service and also offers a view of the chef at work. We ordered pheasant and it was served in a cooked pumpkin - fun to look at and eat.

Wonderful food, well thought-out, delicious set menu (EUR25) with 3 choices for each course. The sardine terrine was out of this world. All delivered to our Terrace table by young well informed friendly staff. Overlooking Albi Cathedral as the sun set and turned it pink against the blue sky. It is often fully booked so ring ahead to make,sure you get to enjoy this lovely place.

On a warm evening we enjoyed dinner outside in this very central restaurant in a pedestrianised street in Albi. We choose it because it offered a more interesting menu than the typical French standard dishes. The style was small portions of different dishes. Food was well presented and service was good. We enjoyed some excellent local Gaillac wines. Reasonably priced. All in all a good experience.

We came to Au Hibou for a Sunday lunch. After walking around Albi city centre, we settled on this place. Since the town is quite touristic, the lunch deal in the most of surrounding restaurants was ranging at 15-20 euros. The deal offered was 16 for a plate, 18 for 2 plates, and 20 for a full meal. Two of us took a main course, whilst the third person took a starter as well. The fish starter was good, but the main plate did not leave us very satisfied. The fish main was made of low quality fish, and a mediocre sauce. The meat main, which two of us took, was not too bad. The sauce was a bit heavy on pepper, but fairly tasty. Overall, the place is very well located, and offers a decent meal for an average price in the area. The restaurant itself is quite small, but not too crumbled. The servers spoke English and Spanish, which is definitely a plus. However, I would not suggest this place for the picky eaters.

It's hard to find fault with this restaurant and I hesitated before deciding not to give it 5*. Service was good, friendly, food quality was very good, it's clean and comfortable.
In the end I decided on 4* purely because there wasn't anything outstanding that made it stand out; everything was very good though and I haven't got any real criticisms. Certainly to be recommended and we will go back.
Careful on the opening hours, it's only open Mon-Fri lunchtime and Thurs/Fri/Sat evening.
