Came here in January 2018 for the Chinese Lantern Festival. Extremely impressive display including a dragon made from 15,000 plates. Very popular with 3 hour queues to get in at weekends, so go mid-week and still be prepared to queue for a long time. Worth it once you get in!

Chateau de Mauriac

This chateau, just outside of Cahuzac, has an extrordinary amount of decorative painting on ceilings, walls, furniture, and shutters. The artist has been working on it for over 50 years and it is a real tour de force. Just seeing the building itself is interesting, but the detail in the decorative painting is mind blowing!

Musee Conservatoire inVINcible VIGNEron

DISCOVER THE MUSEUM " INVINCIBLE VIGNERON". It will give you an insight to how the wine industry has evolved from the 17th to the 20th Century. Placed in a triangle between Gaillac , Cordes sur Ciel and Albi , the Museum has been built on the grounds of an old vineyard and has more than 8000 exhibits for you to enjoy. As you explore the Museum which is spread over more than 1200 square metres you will understand how the Winegrowers developed their tools and skills to help them overcome the many challenges they faced from the soil, weather and diseases. The many sections cover all aspects of producing wine for your enjoyment from preparing the land for the vines to bottling the wine ready for Delivery. There are also various "objets d'art" which reflect the popularity of wine throughout the centuries.

His stories alone are worth the modest...MoreThank you, it was a pleasure to meet you, and to make you decover our passion. We hope you'll come back to see all the tools (you didn't see the beginning) and the futur new tools! Best regards, Christelle, Theo

My wife and I toured the church and the museum beneath it with our tour group. The church is fine, with high ceilings, nice statuary, and decent stained-glass windows. In other words, it's a nice example of this type of building, but it suffers in comparison to some churches we saw before and after. Worth a look if you're in Gaillac.
