Reviewed By BrianJSurreyUKUnusually I’m writing this review 1/2 way through a 10 day stay. Generally all good. Staff are great and alway seem pleased to interact. Minor gripe is there is a shortage of beds near main pool area. I’m lucky enough to have booked a suite with a shared pool but it’s quite intense sun and feel guilty using the main pool and sunshades. Mentioned to management who responded and whilst I still don’t have a sunshade I’m really impressed with the way the matter was dealt with. No problem with recommendations for this hotel. Breakfast could be a bit better ( choice of food and a happy bkfst chef could improve) but overall really impressed.

Reviewed By Snkirby99It’s our 5th time here, the first since 2019. It was better than ever, we love this hotel. The staff are great and the restaurants brilliant. They have invested a lot on new facilities since our last visit with a new pool deck and spa. I would say the best hotel in Greece.

This holiday in Crete was picked as due to Long Covid & poor breathing & being in hospital I was nervous travelling long haul to St Lucia so we cancelled it & booked closer to hone instead & boy oh boy am I pleased we did. Marena (one of the senior Managers) met us at the hotel & showed us to our amazing deluxe junior suite with sea view in room 504. Wow wow wow. Located centrally with incredible view over pool out to sea & see the island coastlines - breathtaking. Modern room, large tv, fridge, sofa, dressing table, plenty of wardrobes & hangers, coffee table, big balcony, big bed, nespresso coffee machine, 2 x bottled water delivered daily, bathroom with bath & shower and separate wc. I commented to Marena that it’s a shame there was no full length mirror as every woman needs one. Within hours when we returned from the pool, a long mirror had been hung in our bedroom. Wonderful service & attention to detail. Outstanding Marena etal. The hotel gardens are immaculately kept, blooming flowers, shrubs & trees. Alex the Manager is most welcoming and seen daily chatting to guests and staff & checking all is good - excellent & you can see it’s paid off. The staff are so warm, friendly & professional. Special shout out to Maria ! The dining rooms and entertainment are second to none. We particularly loved the Greek night & dancing outside on the terrace overlooking the sea. The bar is fun & love the cocktails. I am so pleased we chose to come here in the end. We loved it so much - infact we’ve booked another week in September. That speaks volumes as we are both well travelled with high standards and this hotel will not let you down. 10/10 highly recommend A+* Marena - if you read this - YOU made this holiday extra special with your efficiency, professionalism & warmth. Thanks also to Manager Alexander for keeping his team & hotel to perfection. See you again on 11/9/22 ?♀️??????

Amazing place
Reviewed By joannacC1346ZTThis was our first time to Crete and a few reviews in here made me a little apprehensive but absolutely no reason to doubt this fantastic hotel. We arrived late due to issues at Gatwick, we had water in our room and wraps in the fridge to eat. The rooms were clean and tidy. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom had towels to use in the room and by the pool/beach. These were changed frequently. Essentials in the bathroom and a hairdryer. Water added to the fridge daily. Air conditioning was lovely in the room too. Beautiful sea views. The pool sunbeds were new and comfortable and nicely placed around the pool with umbrellas. The pool bar had two brilliant ladies serving and always happy to help and smiling. The toilets by the pool aren't the best but thats to be partly expected with wet swimmers using them frequently. They were cleaned and checked regularly. The crepe shop has the most fantastic person in the hotel working in there. She's lovely. And the pancakes and waffles are a must! The access to the beach is brilliant, allowing you to avoid the road. My family did two activities on the beach, jet ski and boat ride. Both were thoroughly enjoyed. I could not find anything wrong with our holiday here. We went before the half term for 10days and wished we could have stayed longer. It was very quiet on arrival but our last 3 days we noticed the increase in people. The food in all 3 restaurants were lovely. The main restaurant does get busy in peak times but there's always food available. The bar staff on the 3rd floor are brilliant characters. My only criticism is that the sports court should be available for teenagers to have a kick about with a football or basketballas there's a hoop. You can pay to hire the bats and balls to use it but its very costly which put us off. Also the only pool table is in the children's games room that cost 2 euros a game. We all had the most amazing holiday. Thank you to all the hard working staff at the blue marine hotel and spa

A great place to stay
Reviewed By tomjonWe stayed here for a week in early September. The hotel overlooked the bay, the view from the balcony was beautiful. The pool was large and the beach was private. Breakfast was excellent, you made orange juice with real oranges in a machine, the choice was wide for food, almost anything you can think of. The staff were excellent, your room could be cleaned daily or every two days according to your preferences. Although the hotel is a little old, it was by far the best hotel we have stayed in Crete

Good choice of fresh food and drinks. A warm welcome from Stravos and his team on reception. With helpful advice and great service from Demetrius at the Marina bar. All the staff were helpful and polite with a warm welcome. This is a true 5 star hotel with stunning views and bays.

Sophisticated and stylish - but with room for some minor improvements
Reviewed By Joe_50It’s one of those tricky reviews where 4* feels a bit mean and 5* a bit generous, but our overall experience at this newly-refurbished hotel was nonetheless memorable for all good reasons. We had a Deluxe Superior sea-view room with balcony. All very modern and stylish, but there wasn’t an over-abundance of storage space for clothes given the size of the room. There is a road separating the hotel from the sea, but it’s not too busy and we never felt that the occasional bit of traffic was enough to disturb us. A couple of glitches with housekeeping not topping up coffee, so that needs tightening up.. We only ate there for breakfast, which had a wide buffet selection of fresh fruits, continental, English, and local produce. Absolutely first class, as was the service from the waiters. Sunbeds were all taken early on which didn’t bother us, but might do others. Overall, we felt that there should be more places with shade, particularly on the ninth floor where there is a pleasant seating area which we could not use because none of the tables had parasols. We had a lovely stay and would certainly consider returning, but there could be a few tweaks early on just to raise the level a bit.
