The Niraamaya Private Residence, Blue Mountain is tucked into the mountain tops of western ghats at Chikmagalur. This is a place where you can retreat to a world of rustic surroundings. Set in 2000 acres of coffee plantation and located at an elevation of 1500m above sea level, the luxurious colonial bungalow was first owned by British planters. This estate was founded in 1865 and is infused with colonial architecture and has a luxuriant canopy of tropical trees like Red Cider, Rosewood, Silver Oak and Ficus varieties. Our estate bungalow features three bedrooms, a dining area, a living room and 360-degree views of the mountain. It is a pleasant four and a half-hour drive from Bangalore and 30 km north of the main town of Chikmagalur.

Nice budget place to stay.

Best part is owner Mr Antony, who was very helpful, polite and friendly and helped a lot right from booking to giving advise on cab booking etc. He was willing to listen to every query and answer it to utmost satisfaction. Would recomment purely based on behaviour of Mr Antony.

Fantastic location to unwind
Reviewed By victoriousvivekThis homestay is located within the mountains close to Kudremukha. We were a group of 3 families and occupied around 4 rooms. It's an unbelievable property situated at a serene location. We stay at this property for 5 nights! The final approach of 7 kms to this location can be done only using 4-wheel drive vehicles or by the homestay's own jeeps. So you need to park your vehicles down on the main road at a safe location - there are no issues with this. The owner of the homestay, his family and the staff are extremely cordial & helpful. They took utmost care of us and ensure our stay was comfortable. Santosh - is just a brilliant guy there! He arranged couple of treks and a trip to a waterfall instantly. He was of great help to us and ensured all our requests were satisfied. Very proactive in setting up a campfire every night, additional snacks by the fire, etc... extremely helpful person. The food was absolutely mouth watering and fantastic! All the meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) - were simple, adequate number of dishes & very tasty. Everyone including the kids enjoyed all the meals to the fullest. Some of their authentic Kannadiga dishes were truly yummy!! On request, they made couple of dishes the next day as well :) The Kudremuha base camp is very close from here - just about a 30 mins drive. And there are a lot of treks possible to be done from here, including couple of waterfall points. Otherwise, the property itself is quite big with a huge lawn. Best place to lie down, have a sunbath and do nothing :) Would definitely love to visit this place in future again with family.... Thanks again to Mr. Abhinandan & family for making our stay very comfortable and memorable.

Awesome place for groups and families
Reviewed By UlhasB9The resort is on top of the hill with a wonderful view across 360'. We went there as a team of 4 boys (men ? ?). The rooms are really spacious, luxurious and yet makes you feel homely. One side of the room is covered completely with glass and gives you the complete visibility of the nature outside. The rooms (I think the whole resort) is constructed with a theme of no-neighbours concept. About the food, I must say, I haven't had better fish ever! It was so yummy and fresh. The entire team including the top management is very helpful and they treat you a like a king. Every small request is treated with utmost care. Thanks to everyone, every staff member and the management for making our stay comfortable and memorable. Next time, decided to visit with family.

A paradise within nature at Chikmagalur hill.
Reviewed By Pradipranjan DA place within coffee estate but that's not the end. The forest have silver oaks,black peeper vines,medicinal plants and orange trees too. Absolute peace. Birds chirping from dawn to dusk.Sun rays through trees. Foods are sumptuous. Room is quite good with attached bathroom and hot water facility. Free wifi available. Wonderful to have two night stay.

This homestay is within 5 km reach from Chikmagalore and is nestled inside a coffee plantation that is interspersed with pepper vines & many other spice plants. Some of the activities here are Plantation walk,barbecue,camp fire,Bird watching & outdoor sports. It is a delightful treat to your senses as you navigate through the dense coffee plantation. A stay here will be cherished for a long time!

Reviewed By SabineB664Hier hat es an allem gefehlt: Gastfreundschaft, Ausstattung und Preis-Leistungs-Balance. Wichtig für Nicht-Inder: Es gibt keine Dusche, sondern nur einen Eimer, was bei dem Preis und z.B. der Beschreibung auf AirBnb erstaunlich ist. Außer gibt es keinen einzigen Schrank, um den Koffer auszupacken, d.h. es ist - wenn überhaupt - tauglich für 1-2 Tage. Es gibt keine Küche, sondern nur ein einzelnes Kochfeld quasi neben dem Bett und einen lausigen verdreckten Kühlschrank 50 Meter über den Hof. Der Host wohnt in Bangalore und ist sehr bemüht, aber die Besitzer machen nicht den Eindruck, wirklich Kunden zu wollen. Uns wurde bei Beschwerden über das fehlende Equipment nahe gelegt auszuziehen. Einziges Plus: Tolle location und sehr nette und schnelle Service Kräfte, die auf dem Anwesen wohnen.
