With More Care the Hotel could be Better
Reviewed By Gershon AWe two couples stayed at this hotel two days ago. We recieved our key and happilly walked towards our room. On opening the rooms' door a sewage smell stroke our face.Claiming to the woman on the front desk, she offered us a room far away two floors bellow, which we did not accept.With no other option and since we stayed only one night ,we accepted the room and hoped to overcome the smell .The room is spacious and well equipped. But,!!!! the so called bathroom Is separated from the room by a transparent glass wall and the toilette is separated by a simple curtain.So although we that are married more than 40 years felt uncomfortable. Furthermore the carpet is old and stained. We certainly will not stay in this hotel the next time.

Reviewed By Exchange Studen... iThe so-call “Five Star Hotel” was very poor. Rooms were not clean at all, dirts behind and under the beds. Staff was friendly, but the building seems old and broken. Buffet was ok, but not something special. I’m very disappointed!

Reviewed By sdtravels87We checked the rooms in 5 other hotels in the area and this was the best we saw and at a reasonable price. The "temple trolley" stopped right in front of the hotel. For a short stay, it was ok.

Absolutely awful
Reviewed By JulianversteegThis is listed in the DK guide to china as one of the better hotels in the mount wutai area. It is not. The room was incredibly unclean, the carpet was so dirty that it looked honestly as if it had not been cleaned since it had been installed and had a fair amount of previous guest(s) hair by the bedside. The bathroom looked soviet, and again, was clean only where necessary. Unlike the rest of wutai, who make an effort to try and breach the language barrier, the staff here seemed to go out of their way to be unhelpful and sullen. We didn't eat at all here because if a hotel can't be bothered to clean its rooms, it's unlikely to have a better approach to food preparation. Finding accomodation in mount Wutai is extremely hard, so i will say that if we had our time over again, we would have gone to the friendship/companship hotel, which while a bit new money 'brash' had excellent food, including mushrooms from mount wutai, (and staff who tried to help us through our poor chinese language skills).
