Bleu Lavande

Reviewed By kennstransky - North Haverhill, New Hampshire

Arriving at Bleu Lavande is beyond description as there are acres upon acres of rows of lavender blooming wherever you look. Once inside the gates, make sure to get tickets for for guided (in French & English) tours as my guide was very informative. Then plan to spend as many hours as you want walking the rows or laying alongside the lavender flowers. On the way out is a very handy gift shop offering all sorts of products that were distilled and bottled right on the estate.

Tomifobia Nature Trail

Reviewed By Hawkhardt - Ottawa, Canada

This 19 km path is between Ayer's Cliff and Beebe (4 km from Stanstead). The trail is on a former rail line so it is mainly flat but slightly downhill from Beebe. The surface is packed gravel, but we had no problem on our hybrid bikes. The trail follows the Tomifobia River for most of the distance and there are also a number of small ponds and bogs along the way where it is possible to spot turtles, heron and ducks, among other animals. If you turn left when you reach the Beebe end of the trail you will pass by Le Tomifobia - an excellent stop for lunch of dinner.

Haskell Free Library & Opera House

Reviewed By GAhometown - Cumming, GA

You can be in 2 countries at the same time. True to period and I do recommend taking the $5/pp tour. Don't miss the opera house! Yes, you will be wowed by the library but there's so much more! Tour takes you to opera house and guide will give you detailed and interesting historic information. Even though you are in Canada, do not be afraid to step back on USA soil to access front door. You won't go to jail. It's got a special privilege for you.

Granite Exhibit & Museum of Stanstead

Reviewed By SusieQ101 - Renfrew, Canada

On a recent tour of the area, we stopped in to this exhibit and museum and found it very interesting. Our tour guide was someone who had worked in the granite business all of his life and was very knowledgeable. As well, a new addition to the exhibit was another section of the building set aside for a Lionel train exhibit as well as a display where local model train owners could run their trains. This was a great addition and one could return many times to view the model train set up. We would highly recommend this stop!

The Stanstead Stone Circle

Reviewed By MissGeorgiana - Montreal

The Stanstead Stone Circle is a fun stop and makes for some great photos. There are also some picnic tables, so a good place to stop for a packed or Takeout lunch.
Our four-year-old had the most fun, being very impressed by the bigger stones and also going into the little shrub huts.
There is a fun audio effect on your voice if you stand in the center of the standing stones. Worth the try with young children.

I have crossed many borders by car, this place is unique. In one side of the street it is Vermont, USA and on the other Stanstead, Canada. So you don't see this every day.
With out armor vehicles, big wired fences, check points, etc. etc. etc.
My Son noticed on house that can open one window and there is USA and at the other end of the house open the window to Canada!!!

Bee Bee Air Force

Reviewed By Zadok1 - Pyongyang, North Korea

Very cool dirt track to ride your motocross bikes or performance ATVs. Located in Bebe Quebec very close to the US border. There are two tracks, one for the kids and one for the much more advanced riders with lots of corners and jumps. There is plenty of free parking for cars/trucks with or without trailers. The fees to ride are $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids per day. Guests who just want to hangout and watch get in for free. There are some picnic tables and benches but no bleachers so you might want to bring your own chairs.
The track is very well maintained. They set up a BBQ with plenty of food for for all of the riders/racers and guests. The owner of the track also owns a gas station/garage that is very close buy if you need gas, oil, spark plugs, drinks etc. It is a very nice place to ride in a cool location.
