Ruta de Las Flores

Reviewed By zarahfaes - Puurs, Belgium

We stayed in hotel Anahúac in Juayua to visit the Rutas de las Flores. We wanted to do the full experience, with chicken bus and everything. Since we had only 1 day, we wanted to take as much as we could out of the day. Unfortunately there wasn’t a guide who could take us for a day to take the chicken bus and guide us through the villages. The only option was a petsonal driver for $75. Since we needed a new Sim card, we stopped in Christian’s foto studio. The Son of the foto studio was called to give us more information because he speaks English. We decided to ask him if hè was available, and willing, to guide us through the ruta. Luckily for us, Carlos was very excided! So the next morning, Carlos picked us up at our hotel. We spend the day visiting the towns we wanted to See, take the chicken bus,... it was really lovely! We paid everything along the way for Carlos, the bus, lunch, and drinks. At the end of the day we gave him an additional amount which we had agreed. We had a fun day! In the evening, Carlos showed up at our hotel and gave us a memory with Some pictures he took during the day. This really touched my heart! Carlos is not a professional guide, but if people are interested, and want to give him a chance, this is His number: + 502 7746 7568

Feria Gastronomica

Reviewed By bucketlisttravellers - Sydney, Australia

We went to this food market on a Saturday afternoon and the hardest thing was to choose what meals to eat! Most dishes are between $5-$6, generous portions and consisted of either beef, pork, chicken , shrimp or some combination of each. The dishes also came with salad, rice and tortillas. There were plenty of drinks stalls to choose from as well. We couldn't go past the pineapple licuardo that you drink out of the actual pineapple for $2.50. The stalls closed promptly around 5pm, so something to keep in mind if you want an early dinner here too.

Chorros de la Calera

Reviewed By 123carlosq - San Salvador, El Salvador

NOTE: .If you are new to this place I totally recommend you to go only from Friday to Sunday because the cops don't use to be there during the week, only during the weekend so, take the necessary precautions and GO WITH FRIENDS, don't date to go alone unless you totally know what you are doing. Besides the above, the patch to the "Chorros" is very rough and you need to take a "Moto-taxi" which is about $3 (one way). When you get to the "Chorros" you'll have to walk for about 10 minutes going down until you finally see the first pool. It's beautiful in winter because the water keeps coming down like big falls and you can swim in the pool which is crystal clear & clean water that keeps flowing down, you even can drink it!!. Keep walking down and you'll find the 2nd pool but be careful because the path is short and you have to give a little jump at the middle part. If you keep walking you'll find the 3rd pool which is the last one and more private one because is more dangerous to reach it. If you like challenges, wild environments and these type of places you'll love it! Totally worth it.

Parque Central de Juayua

Reviewed By mikebrownnz - Cardiff, United Kingdom

Juayua is a lovely town, with a positive vibe, which emanates from this central square and which is alive with locals, talking, singing, eating, and generally enjoying themselves. The music and extra food stalls are here every weekend so plan your visit accordingly and you won’t be disappointed.
