9 Things to do Good for Big Groups in Romford That You Shouldn't Miss

June 26, 2021 Sachiko Swiger

Romford is a large town in east London, and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Havering. It is located 14.1 miles (22.7 km) northeast of Charing Cross and is one of the major metropolitan centres identified in the London Plan. It was historically a market town in the county of Essex and formed the administrative centre of the liberty of Havering, until it was dissolved in 1892. Good road links and the opening of the railway station in 1839 were key to the development of the town and the economic history of Romford is underpinned by a shift from agriculture to light industry and then to retail and commerce. As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century, Romford significantly expanded and increased in population, becoming a municipal borough in 1937 and has formed part of Greater London since 1965. It now forms one of the largest commercial, retail, entertainment and leisure districts outside central London and has a developed night-time economy.

Moby Golf is great for children from about 4 or 5 upwards - as soon as they can hit a golf ball in somewhat the right direction! And for adults too. A great family activity and a brilliant thought-out fun course with water and whale and pirate ship and all sorts! Definitely recommend this place!

From the moment we arrived, Beth and her team made us all feel very welcome and were very accommodating to our requests. Stapleford Abbotts Golf Club donated to our raffle prizes which helped the B.A.D. Golf Day event raise in excess of £3,000 for Haven House Children’s Hospice. All of this would not have gone smoothly without Beth and her team - thank you: you are all AMAZING. Brian, Andrew & Dean (B.A.D.)

Went to Romford Dogs for a stag night, and ate in the pavillion restaurant. The starter was a buffet salad bar, with prawns, pate and a wide selection of other good quality dishes. Second course was a choice of pork, beef or turkey carvery with two kinds of potatoes, yorkshire pudding, carrots and green beans. The dessert either cheese and biscuits or gateaux. Really good quality food for all courses and the portion sizes plentiful.
