Laguna Brava

Today we had a wonderful tour with Runacay. They picked us up at our house with a giant 4wd. We had a lovely day. English spoken and some surprises on the road, highly recommended.

Parque Nacional Talampaya

Reviewed By menonrina - Peterborough, United Kingdom

If you are planning to visit Talampaya (Parque Nacional Talampaya, route 76), its 50 km from Villa Union. Would recommend popping into town and booking the 10:15 overland truck (called 4x4). It takes around 25 people and costs 2170 peso per person. This includes the park fees – you will get white wine, water, iced tea, olives, something to eat and sparkling white wine. The guide will only speak in English, but the Argentinians are more than happy to translate into English for you. It’s a great 4 hr ride. Take a sun hat, long sleeve shirt and walking trousers and good shoes as the sun is very very hot. Good photo opportunities.

Parque Provincial El Chiflon

Reviewed By 948alliem

After a couple of days in La Rioja province we passed by El Chiflon on the way back . So we had only a few hours. Even without pre- booking we could do a walking tour straight away. The guide Paco took us around for ca. 2 hours, explained historical sites and showed us things, we wouldn't have seen by ourselves. To be around only the two of us made this landscape even more special. I liked, that it was kept simple, no big touristical infrastructure. We could feel the peace and spirit of this amazing area much better, than in the "bigger" parks. It was very very nice!! Even the track was quite easy to walk, it was hot in November, sunny and useful to have proper sunprotection. Unfortunately we had no time to eat in the restaurant.
