Worse than a yurt that we stayed in last year!
Reviewed By Flyer36484519616Hotel is in dire need of upgrading overall, we stayed in room 813, and that was absolutely shocking. First impressions were not positive when we got out of the lift and the state of the carpet in the hallway was poor, but we put that down to it being a high traffic area. Room was beyond basic, bed was rock hard, shower strength was too limited to wash my hair (at least the water was warm) and the towels were wafer thin and grey from overuse and poor washing. Got to admit I didn’t look under the bed, was too scared of what I might find. Tables and chairs in restaurant are more reminiscent of a school cafeteria than of a restaurant in a hotel, and don’t get me started on the breakfast. Overall very different to the photos shown on the website.

Reviewed By harryc710Went to Penang for foodie holiday - Penang was ok. We booked a King suite for eight nights through QANTAS for a “Great Price”. We were upgraded” to 2BR studio - which included a bedroom with King Bed. There was a shower/WC with threadbare towels and no towel rails and needed a good clean. The main room had an extra king bed, minimal kitchen (fridge, crockery/cutlery for four, and five cooking utensils) washer/dryer, TV (no english). WiFi barely worked and dropped out. We used our own mainly. The room was noisy - could hear people walking down corridor and banging around next door. There was no hot water over the kitchen sink or bathroom basin. An outdoor swimming pool was on fifth floor. Cleaned once a week apparently. I doubt that, with silt and debris on the floor when we arrived and when we left. The building had good restaurants and supermarket. The building had security, but the rooms are NOT as depicted on website. It’s not a place to be able to sit and relax/chill after a long day sightseeing. There are MUCH better options. If it sounds too good to be true it generally is.

Ardour Lodge is a friendly and comfortable accommodation, perfectly situated in between Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi. Bus stop is just down the street along with a huge food court, and a stone throw from the beach. You feel great and relaxing especially when you can actually hear the ocean waves from your own room. 3 double rooms, 1 twin room and 1 quadruple room, stylish decorated and well-maintained, perfect for business visitors, budget travelers, or families. Each room has its own private en suite bathroom includes fresh linens, bedside tables, bureau with vanity mirror, hairdryer, and 32" LCD TV. Tea and coffee are also provided. All rooms have air conditioning, vital in the hot Penang summer, also to make your stay more comfortable. Two sharing washrooms, a homely living room, a fully fitted kitchen, a washing machine, and even iron are provided in common area.

Reviewed By Lada2911Stayed in Ardour Lodge for a month. Really enjoyed it. 3 mins to food court, 6 mins to Tesco, 30 seconds to the sea, 3 mins to bus stop. Clean and calm. Very polite and helpful owner. Strongly recommended.

Good property, location probably not ideal for tourists
Reviewed By yss97The apartment was quite nice and adequately furnished. There was a full kitchen which we didn't use apart from making tea and coffee, but you can cook if you wished. We had to pay a little extra for a sea view. However, we saw 1 small cockroach in the bathroom on 1 occasion which spoilt the overall impression somewhat. There is a swimming pool but no beach on the property. The TV channels are a bit fiddly to find if you are not used to a TV streaming box. The location is next to a shopping centre, so there are a choice of eateries (mainly chains eg Healy Macs, Dome etc, only 1 local restaurant called Nyonya Breeze which is a branch but not as good as the main restaurant in town) around, as well a grocers which was well-stocked. It is not too far from Gurney Drive, but a long way from Georgetown and the tourist sites in town. So not ideal for tourists - far from tourist sites, no nearby beach. The place works like an Airbnb - someone meets you when you arrive and lets you in. We had the rubbish bin emptied on the second day, and we had some water replaced but not tea or coffee. The key is dropped off at the 7-Eleven on the way out.

More than helpful with accommodations and services throughout the entire stay. The hotel is in a great location close to the beach.

Noisy Traffic
Reviewed By ibnubatuttaStayed 2 nights. The studio apartment on the 37th floor was spacious, clean and comfortable. The only downside was the noisy traffic from the busy Tanjong Tokong street. Even from the 37th floor the speeding motorcycles were audible.
