Home of the ex-Regal/ABC Derby Mighty Compton Cinema Organ. Only open on concert days. Please see website for details of concerts.
Just walked out of Pipes in the Peak, having listened to Phil Kelsall (principal organist at Blackpool Tower) for two hours. I’m up in the air. What an organist, what technique, and what a fantastic organ to perform on. An enormous credit to Mr D Thorp ( the owner) who fulfilled his dream! Not just a Crompton organ, but a piece of magic with added extras. It’s a must for anyone to visit. A glass of wine, coffee and biscuits, an incredible afternoons entertainment. All for £12. Never mind the surrounding countryside as an added bonus. This is the best attended “organ” venue in the U.K. , and I can’t recommend it highly enough. (I’m a semi pro musician, have been for the last 50 years, so I’ve got a good ear)!

We are a live theatre situated in the heart of Glossop, in the High Peak of Derbyshire, UK. We present a week-long run of 6 plays each season, together with visiting productions, music and a lively social club. We have a youth group, regular films from Glossop’s community cinema, The Peak Film Society, and various other groups who use our clubroom. Our clubroom can be hired for a wide range of different occasions.
There was a range of excellent talent, from all ages and I really enjoyed it. There are lots of opportunities and lots of things to do there

The Crystal Ballroom is Glossop's largest performance venue, hosting events every weekend - Glossop Comedy Club on the last Sunday of every month, local and international live music acts from every genre, tribute acts, themed nights, band nights, celebrity DJ nights, discos and more. The Crystal Ballroom occupies a large, renovated space within the former Glossop Conservative Club building, with a room capacity of 180. Originally built in 1909, The Ballroom’s stunning Edwardian architecture creates a spectacular and versatile space perfect for live music and events. It is located in the gateway to The Peak District in High Peak, Derbyshire. Just 30 minutes east of Manchester, neighbouring Tameside and Stockport. Our venue is also available to hire for private functions including Weddings, Birthdays, Engagements, Retirements and more.
I have attended the comedy night twice now and each time it has been thoroughly enjoyable. The acts are great, venue provides a fantastic atmosphere, staff are welcoming and above all the night is great fun for friends and family to attend together. Will most certainly be coming back again

This is tradition at its best. A lovely old building from local stone. There was a craft fair inside when we visited, together with a little cafe. The crafts were quite unique and purchases were made for gifting.

The Grand Pavilion Matlock Bath is 'open ambitious and a little bit scruffy'. You are welcome to come and visit our building on open days and heritage talks and for all our publicised events. In August 2013 the building was bought from the council by the community and is run by a local charity. The aim is to restore this amazing building and theatre. While we wait for the lottery fairy to do her thing,we are running events such as live music performances, art and heritage exhibitions, film shows and private hirings. The Pavilion is also the home of The Peak District Lead Mining Museum which is very successful, very popular and not at all scruffy !
been here a few times now always a good show and the staff are helpful and polite then you get to have a leisurely walk around the area
