Reviewed By kbard651573The only criticism we had is that the cost per night vs what we would pay elsewhere for similar B&B accommodation was much higher. We were 4 colleagues travelling for work, and a 5th person joined us privately. We found the cost for this 5th person very high. Otherwise we would stay there again if we were in the area.

Shondoro Mountain Retreat offers 3 lovely stone & thatch cottages nestled in the Waterberg mountains. Secluded and peaceful. We offer 1 family cottage - 2 bedrooms with en-suite (shower only). 1 Room with a queen size bed and the second room with 2 X 3/4 beds. The other cottages have a king bed and a queen bed, each with en-suite (shower only). Fully equipped kitchens and private braai bomas. We provide luxury linen and towels. Each cottage also has heating and air conditioning.
Peaceful stay close to nature
Reviewed By Annemarie CThis is highly recommended if you need a break from the city and want to enjoy nature. We enjoyed making fire in the boma and just experiencing the peace and tranquility - after the rain, we were treated with the sound of the river running close to our chalet. The chalet is well-equipped and very clean and the hosts helpful and friendly. This place has a beautiful setting between the mountains.

La Rive Waterberg Accommodation is situated in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains. We are adjacent to the old Vaalwater/Lephalale tarred road approximately 40 km from Vaalwater on the R517/R510 in the area known as Bulgerivier, Limpopo, South Africa. We are located more or less in the centre of the triangle formed by the towns of Vaalwater, Thabazimbi and Lephalale. The area where we are is situated is abound with game, including the Big 5. Apart from the aforementioned, the establishment is within easy reach (approximately 12 km) from the scenic and very large Mokolo dam. All roads leading to us, are tarred roads and are pothole free.
Excellent value for money
Reviewed By Ys PI stayed overnight at La Rive Hotel this week, and was extremely impressed with the overall cleanliness and neatness of the bedroom and public areas. Both meals were well prepared and very adequate, as was the service. As an overnight it was excellent value for money, and I will definitely stop over again.

Unbelievable, luxury bush escape for family and friends alike!
Reviewed By DocJewelOut usual bush getaway was booked, so we decided to visit La Barune for a change... and we were blown away! La Barune is an opulently furnished six-bedroom lodge with every amenity you could ever wish for. The bedrooms are all self-contained, spacious and beautifully furnished. Four bedrooms are in the main lodge and the other two are adjacent to the main house in an equally beautiful little cottage. The lodge boats a beautiful honesty bar, exquisite high ceilings, and spacious modern kitchen with all modern appliances, including an ice machine! While there is a regal dining area with a 12-seater table, the entertainment space outside, with built-in fireplace and dining furniture is where we spent most of our time. The gardens are lush, with a tree swing for the little ones, splash pool and 60kms of bush for you to explore on car, bike or foot. The wildlife here is friendly and often comes to your doorstep for some treats. The children were able to feed zebras and various boks and gazelles by hand! We also enjoyed walks on the estate and fishing in the nearby dam. The best part of our stay was Hanli... Hosts like her are so rare. She communicated with us before and ensured that our stay exceeded our expectations and even made a delicious cheesecake for my mother (as it was her birthday)! Thank you so much for a memorable stay. It was just beautiful and we most certainly will be back!!!
