Looking for a reasonably priced accommodation without sacrificing all luxury should take a look at the U Design Hotel Mentakab. We understand that there is truly no place like home. But we do our very best to come close.
Clean and close to shops
Reviewed By Patsy AClean hotel. The room was small and the table along the wall made it difficult to get to the window and the kettle. Beds comfortable. Toilet was clean but does not come with a shower curtain. Ironing boards outside the rooms. Water cooler is also outside the rooms. The room only has 3+1 coffee so bring your own tea or nescafe. No fridge or safe in the room. The hotel is in a housing area and can be noisy if the zumba class is on in one of the shops. After 9.30 pm it is quiet. There is a 7eleven and a few chinese restaurants that open in the evening. An indian curry house is open during the day. Food can be a problem but you can drive to the town which is only about 5 minutes by car. There is a night market every night in town. No tourist attractions close by so this hotel is good as a stop over.

Nice for simple stay
Reviewed By bullet_kaviThe hotel is located nearby a busy grocery shop but rooms are quite though. No special parking, so you need to use the parking coupon. Basically its not a good place for family, but for business trips. Really enjoyed their free breakfast, especially the amazing nasi lemak. Each room will be provided by free newspaper every morning. Lotsa shops in walking distance.

Don't Be Fool By The Exterior Of the Hotel

Her are some of the facts would help you guys when making your decision; The Pro: 1. Location - in the main and happening place in Mentakab town, near to the Store and night market. Opposite of Mentakab famous Yong Tau Foo..but taste so so only. 2. Parking - have sufficient place for parking 3. The Exterior - From far this hotel is very easy to spot as it has been newly repainted and it is at the corner. The Con: 1. Not value for $$ - Was given a standard Room at RM88 nett with no window and no breakfast. 2. Small room - with one dressing table, 1 chair, no window, with attached toilet 3. Old stuff - with very poorly maintain mattress which already "sunk", have to sit on the bed to watch TV which already very "sunken in"..it hurts my back. When u sleep, u either sleep on a sunken middle or the side which is sink in the middle... (Pls refer to attached pictures for reference) Air-con is very noisy even turned to the lowest fan and with my ear-plug on. Blanket should be "donate" to recycle centre. It is already muded and the whole piece is soaked in very strong fabric softener which produce a very strong odour/flora fragrance..it is over do.(just can't stand it. Pillow is so old with a lot of stains...sigh 4. Poor air-Ventilation: when i turned on the exhoust/air-ventilation fan, it sucks the smokers smoke from the corridor..gosh..it really stink. 5.Badroom sink - is design especially for kids as i need to bend so much to wash my face. the height is ard my weist ..i m only slightly more then 5 feet.. Frankly speaking, i can't sleep well the whole night with the sunken in bed and poor air ventilation ... the first thing in the morning..i m checking out and looking for another hotel... I find the price that i pay is not worth the money at all..please re-consider if you choose this hotel.. Thanks, hope this is helpful to you...

Reviewed By James FHmn...when i book, stated with breakfast, then i ask reception, the reception told me, actually only got bread, coffee and tea 24 hours, oh... then i think is ok, because of the price Then i get a room, with much noise, it sound like bird competition singing, it was non stop until 12am or something like that So i request for changing room and i was so lucky, because still got empty room, which was much more quieter

Reviewed By Denzel CStayed 1 nite at this property at St award room without windows. No complain on room because everything was good and well maintained. The subject I mention mute is the staff who checked in me. He is a male who purposely do not speak a single word and only use body language. I thought he is mute but I'm wrong. Poor guest service. There is lots of hotel this area but it was recommended by my friend that the reason I came to stay here but unfortunately the service of the receptionist was terrible. First time in my life was checked in by MUTE staff . Please recruit someone who can speak. Thank you.

Never change bed sheets & no towels
Reviewed By Shareen LI book a 4 pax room for three days stay. 1st day when we check in around 1700 hrs our room only had two towel therefore we had to go to the reception to request for 2 more towels. We were told there were no more towels as the cleaners had not deliver the clean towels to the hotel and therefore 4 of us end up having to share 2 towels. On the last day we requested for housekeeping to service our room but end of the day when we return we found that the bed sheet were not changed at all and not even a single towel in the room. Again we had to go to the reception to request for towels & this time for 4 towels. It is surprising that hotel did housekeeping for our room but did not change the bed sheet for three days stay...!!!

The best in town
Reviewed By kuneswarys2016This is actually 3 houses combined for the purpose of room rental. Its peaceful and quiet.super clean, tidy and neat.for me i prefer this compared to others since it is quiet and nearby to restaurants like chinese and indian and also shopping mall.beside this residence is a car tyre shop so one can check the tyres prior your departure. The supervisor is also a very nice lady.8/10 for overall.
