I was looking for a place around Etna to tour a vineyard and taste some local wine with my American boyfriend. I have to say, the vineyard is AMAZING. The ivy growing all over the house is spectacular, the garden is insanely beautiful... everything was so beautiful. I have recommended it to all of my engaged friends for their weddings. Talking about the wine, we did the tasting with six glasses, which included bottles of red, white and rosé. Everything was perfect. Daniela was our hostess and she was extremely kind and well versed. We ended up buying several bottles of wine and we definitely gonna order more. Highly recommended if you want a taste of the real espressione del territorio of Sicily!

This was an excellent trip. The guide, Tony, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He lives in one of the villages on the national park and hi knowledge was excellent and he was so informative and enthused on the subject. The half day tour was just the right length as well.

5. Half-Day Private Mt Etna Wine Tasting Experience from Catania
In 2008, after spending a long time looking for the best land for their vineyards, the Planeta family stopped on the northern slope of Etna, next to the lava flows and the woods that surround Passopisciaro. The estate is spread south and north of the village. To the north, in the middle of the beautiful vineyards of Sciara Nuova, they restored some fascinating old buildings, which now represent Planeta's hospitality heart. To the south, the winery Feudo di Mezzo was built, just at the center of a sixteenth-century lava flow. Nearby are also the vineyards of Torreguarino, Pietramarina and Montelaguardia: the ideal vines for their white wines. The visit to the winery combines a guided tour and tasting of 4 different wines, throughout a journey to discover the varied Planeta production. Each tasting ends with a selection of Extra Virgin Oils Dop "Val di Mazara Planeta". If you wish, you can integrate the tasting buying more wines by the glass or wine bottles.

Spending the day with Annarita was absolutely incredible. Her knowledge of and passion for this magnificent part of history is unmatched. We were having such a great time connecting with her that our time went by so quickly. We’ll be requesting her for future tours in the area, for sure. First off, I booked this tour December 30th at about 8:30pm via Viator fir Dec 31st tour. The operator emailed me right away to clarify things that made the tour go smoothly. When we arrived in Catania at 5:40 early in the morning, our driver Danilo was was waiting for us already. We had an early start, meaning our time was not wasted at all. When we reached in Taormina, I asked Danilo to check if we can add done of the Godfather places to check and he called his boss right away and was confirmed we can do it. I was happy and appreciated the flexibility. We were able to check the places that I wanted to go. Just a reminder, our driver is not a licensed tourist guide but he tells us where to go and drop us off and pick us up like “door to door”. I would suggest to google the best places to visit and tell the driver what you most like to visit and read all about it. You will appreciate more if you know the story behind that particular area. This tour works perfectly for us. Thank you Danilo for doing above and beyond of what you are doing. Cheers!

Went for the half day trip with little expectations and was profoundly pleased. What a fantastic day with Brittney from the school and Jacobo of Tennuta di Fassina Winery. A thoughtful tour with history, culture, and information about wine making in this rich area that looms under Mount Etna. Jacobo and his staff put together a food and wine tasting with an amazing variety of wine and organic seasonal foods from the winery garden. We learned so much and had a fantastic day with these intelligent, attentive, and warm people. I am beyond thrilled and would do it again in a heartbeat. I feel like I might keep in touch with Brittney, an ex New York Sicilian with Italy in her soul! Thank you for a great day!
