We recently visited Jamaica for our twentieth trip. We called Ricky for all of our excursions. Having never been to Kingston, we decided this was our chance. We did not want to do the tourist stops but to actually see the real city and countryside. Ricky did not disappoint. He drove us through downtown Kingston, allowing a quick photo at the port and through uptown Kingston stopping at Emancipation Park. (A beautiful park with clean bathrooms and statues of people who were instramental in the history of Jamaica.). We stopped at The BoB Markey Museum, for pictures outside, we did not choose to go in. We took the toll road into Jamaica, yes, they now have a four to six lane highway. On the way back to our resort we took the old highway, what a treat, especially the “flat bridge” about which Ricky told us the history and lore behind the bridge. We drove through Fern Gully and learned about Jamaica’s rainforest. We learned many of the town names as we passed through “old Jamaica”. After a brief stop at the touristy shops to pick up coffee fro friends back home, we stopped for lunch at our favorite jerk place, Scotchies and had our jerk chicken, steamed fish, breadfruit, rice and peas and yam, and of course Red Stripe. Ricky also took us on two separate nights to two restaurants off resort, both worth the trip (Sharkies and Milestone]. We cannot wait to return to Jamaica. We will call Ricky on our next tour which will be of Port Royal and to taste more authentic Jama
