This was an excellent trip into the Andes by a very knowledgeable Guide called Nicholas. We were lucky enough to see a Grey Fox, Condors' and a Chilean Eagle. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide and we were treated to drinking red wine with cheese and biscuits high up in the Andes surrounded by beautiful scenery and absolute silence.. It was an amazing visit.

We had a pleasure of Waldo being our tour guide driving and showing us around Valparaiso. We had 2 children that are still young, so flexibility of the schedule is a must and Waldo is very flexible and intuitive of our needs. He even prepared desserts, drinks, fruits, you name it, he brought them with him so we have a pleasant day through out the day, as most of the restaurants is still closed during Phase 2. He even brought our bags along and carried them securely,to prevent robbery. Thank you Waldo for being very patient with us and waited until we had great photo for our Instagrams. We really recommend him!

For our weekend getaway from Santiago, my wife and I booked a whole-day horseback riding tour. My wife had some experience on the horse but I had nada. So I was a bit nervous, but after 10 minutes on the horse, we were on our way. The ride takes us all the way up to the ridge of the steep mountains that surrounds the canyon. It’s crazy scary, because there is a very little room for an error and looking down the canyon was just too scary. But horses are very well trained and easy to ride that for someone with no experience, I started to feel like I was in control after a an hour or two. The view is just spectacular, and by the time we got to the ridge, I felt like I just crossed the Andes. I realised how tough it is to be a horse and huasso in Chile with so much to traverse with so little shade. I now understand why Chupalla has such a wide brim. This was not possible without Pablo, who was our guide horseman. He is seasoned, friendly and English-speaking, which helped me immensely. We trusted him and he did a great job to teach me how to ride a horse from zero. The cost is 60,000NOK per person. It includes a well-trained and cared horse, trust worthy guide, 6-7 hours of breath-taking ride and a grill feast near the mountain top, including beer, chorizo sausages, a big chunk of steak and tasty salad made on the spot. I have to say that as someone who has no experience on the horse, it helped that my wife knew how to ride so I rode between Pablo and my wife. Maybe if my wife was also inexperienced, then it might have been a difficult tour. So if you want to do this, it’s best to have one person in your party who can ride to make sure you are okay! 100% recommended! And ask for Pablo :)
