Borgo San Rocco Resort

Heaven on earth.

Heaven on earth. After the most stressful of journeys due to a 5 hour flight delay, we eventually arrived at the hotel. The warmest of welcomes from the reception staff and we were invited to take a seat on the terrace while they brought us a lovely glass of ice cold wine, free of charge. The first thing to hit you is the quiet. It is so peaceful here, all you can hear is nature. It is bliss. The room was lovely, spacious with a furnished balcony with stunning views of the sea and mainland Italy. We ate dinner at the restaurant twice and the meal was sublime. A small a la crate menu featuring Wonderful seafood and steaks. This was enjoyed outside on the terrace, it was absolutely beautiful. A perfect setting. The owner Vittorio pops over for a chat and insists on you trying his cheese and marmalade’s. They are gorgeous. He even bought a couple of wines for us while chatting. A real character. The pool is a 5 minute walk down a lot of steps but it’s worth the effort. They have a bar there which was sadly closed during our visit but would be great when open. The staff are amazing. On our first wander out of the hotel we ventured just a minute and there was the church that was the setting for Michael Corleone’s wedding in The Godfather. A quite up and down 10 minute stroll takes you past a lovely wine and beer shop with a few tables with a view and then to Bar Vitelli. Bar Vitelli is an iconic place but the prices are double that of the other cafes and bars. Back to the hotel, it’s amazing.

Grazie ?

Coppola pilgrimage.

Little did I know I would be staying in the same apartment that Francis Ford Coppola stayed in when filming the Godfather in Savoca. Beautiful views of mountain ranges and quaint villages. The Apartment is complete with kitchen, refrig. stove, pots, pans and utensils. Nice size bedroom and bath with walk in shower. Small continental breakfast at the pastry cafe across the street. Owner and staff are friendly and very accommodating. Bar Vitelli one of the movie location scenes is 3 doors down the street, The church where the wedding scene took place is at the top of the hill. If you make it to Scily this is not to be over looked.

We visited fue places ,where the Godfather film was shot. Beautiful Sicilian villages ,such as Savoka where we were able to visit the Famous bar Vitelli;where Michael Corleone ask Apollonian's hand in marriage and the Church Santa Lucia, where the wedding party was filmed. Savoka is the place where even today you can feel atmosphere associated to mafia and the film Godfather. Authentic Sicily and must see event.

Amazing hospitality - second to none!

Reviewed By LaurenBolton

We travelled as a group recently from Ireland to Savoca to attend a wedding nearby and stayed in Dolce Casa N41 for 3 nights. The B&B owner Nino greeted us as we arrived and during our stay he could not have done any more for us. He is so friendly and accommodating as well as his sister. They really went out of their way for us from arranging taxis back and forth to the wedding party and even if this couldn't be arranged they offered to bring us themselves to even little things such as bringing us drinks in the garden. We were all made to feel so comfortable during our time here and would have loved a longer stay. The rooms themselves are lovely, not to mention spotlessly clean. There is a lovely homely feel to the B&B and it is set up traditionally which is something you don't see everywhere. I could go on and on as among us we could not stop saying how impressed by the service and hospitality and would definitely recommend staying here to anyone travelling to Savoca!
