Pretty poor

Reviewed By suziep895

Ordered a ploughman’s lunch. Ploughman’s firstly said it would be served with roast potatoes, they didn’t arrive. The meat tasted like it was left over from Christmas. The ciabatta was stale. There were two small pieces of cheese and a mountain of salad. The potatoes arrived. (These were frozen roast potatoes) which were still hard and cold. Pretty poor really for £14 wouldn’t recommend and we won’t be visiting again.

Over-night Stay on Cycling Trip

Reviewed By richarddK3960LG

A small group of us stayed a night at the Huntsman Inn as part of a 2 day cycling trip. It is a nice hotel with a welcoming bar and our room was both comfortable and spotless. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast too. The highlight however was the service which was spot on - all the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others. Good value for money overall.

Terrible nights sleep, loud music until after 1 AM!!!

Reviewed By M681GYgregc

The room itself was ok and the bathroom was excellent as was the breakfast and friendly service. However, the bed was rather firm but the main issue and hence the 1 star is music was being played until after 1 am!!! It started around 8pm and then was constant until the small hours, incredibly loud. I'm not 100% sure if it was from the Nooks own bar or the one next door, but either way it was impossible to get any sleep until it finally stopped. Spoilt our stay completely and wont be going back I'm afraid.

Don't Visit with Your Dogs!

Reviewed By JanetWickings

If I could write two reviews, one for food (5 stars) and one for attitude to dogs (0 stars) I would. We stayed for 2 nights and ate there both evenings. The food was excellent and the cooked breakfasts too. However I felt very unwelcome because of their attitude to dogs. First morning at breakfast we were told to sit at a table on a hard floor and not a carpet "because there were LOTS of white hairs left on the carpet last night "(our dogs are brown!). They have a labrador puppy as well! There is also a member of staff who makes no secret of the fact she hates dogs and if looks could kill on Friday night we would be dead! She welcomed people who had no dogs and ignored us (apart from the filthy looks). She was also going around the locals whispering which made it a horrible atmosphere. Same attitude towards us at breakfast Saturday morning. She walked past the fireplace near our table and threw something in it at a distance, no doubt to try and frighten the dogs. What an awful woman. My husband also attempted to be friendly and chatty to the landlady whilst ordering our drinks Friday night and got a one word unfriendly reply. Definately would not return which is such a shame as the food was faultless.
