Ecomusee

I came back to Breil specifically to be able to do justice to this little museum, as last time I didn't have more then 20 minutes or so to realise that there was a lot to see here. Three associations support the preservation of the railway coaches, old trams, buses and locomotive engine that was donated after the Second World War and plied along the Cote d'Azur. Celebrating the railway line that goes from Tende to Nice and Ventigmilia, in its heyday, you could travel all the way to Switzerland along this line. And for the dads who like train sets, (and anyone else for that matter), don't miss the impressive reconstruction of some of the fascinating engineering feats that feature along the route of the Train des Merveilles. I recommend you spend at least an hour if not more time to explore the history of transport in this mountainous region. It is open every afternoon, seven days a week from 2pm through to the end of August when it is open just at the weekends.

Parc Alpha

Wolves have been reintroduced into the upper valley, but prevented from going down the valley to farms etc, by a large fence. The fence has viewing platforms and windows enabling visitors to see them from close by. There is also a great show of tame birds of prey.
