This course was a birthday gift from family. My daughter in law and I attended and both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Katherine is an excellent teacher and she guided us well throughout the process. I can thoroughly recommend this course for those who enjoy arts and crafts.

Rockingham Castle

Set on a hill overlooking five counties, Rockingham Castle was built by William the Conqueror. The Castle was a royal residence for 450 years. In the 16th Century Henry VIII granted it to Edward Watson and for 450 years it has remained a family home. The pre-dominantly Tudor building, within Norman walls, has architecture, furniture and works of art from practically every century including, unusually, a remarkable collection of 20th century pictures. Twelve acres of formal and wild garden command splendid views over the surrounding countryside. The Castle is open to day visitors on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from Easter through to September and from June on Tuesdays as well. Groups are welcome on open days or by pre-arrangement for a private guided tour on weekdays. The beautifully appointed Castle Gift Shop is situated in the courtyard along with our licensed Walkers House Tearooms which serve lunches, cream teas and wonderful homemade cakes.

Visited Farndon Fields farm shop to use a couple of gift vouchers my wife’s sister gave us as a present for our Golden wedding anniversary, I’ve never been a fan of afternoon tea most hotels I’ve eaten afternoon tea are a bit of an afterthought and highly priced at that. However this is not the case at Farndon Fields their version of afternoon tea is of a different order perfectly sized sandwiches fresh home made scones just the right amount of jam and clotted cream, beautiful two bite cakes of a high quality sweet pastries made with all butter with a superb macaron, we enjoyed this with a nice bottle of Prosecco. Would we visit again absolutely my wife wants to try the savoury version.

Mini Mischiefs

Mini Mischiefs children's indoor play and party venue in Market Harborough, with a huge multi-level soft play frame that reaches an incredible 5.5 meter height. In addition to this huge three tier play frame we also have a dedicated built-in Baby Area and Toddler Area with height appropriate soft play equipment allowing babies and toddlers to explore the play centre at their own pace.

We recently used Mini Mischiefs for my 5 year old's birthday party. The whole booking process was really easy, a good choice of food for the children, and easy payment of a deposit and the full balance two weeks before. On the day, we were met by our party planner in our chosen themed room of 'Superheroes'. She explained the order of the day, that the food would be brought out after an hour and the children called back to the room over the loud speaker, party bags brought out at the end etc. Everything went perfectly. There is a CD player for you to take your own songs (although there was a CD there too, in case you forget). The party planner took the birthday cake away to cut up and add to the party bags. There is literally nothing to do other than watch your children enjoy themselves! I wouldn't hesitate to go back, both for an organised birthday party or an ad-hoc afternoon out. There is a little cafe which serves hot food and hot / cold drinks. The play equipment is great; a huge helter skelter, some big slides, soft play, footballs etc. The security is good too, with a locked low-level gate, only opened by staff, and a push button to activate the doors getting out, which is too high up for little children, so I always felt they were very safe.
