Our 12 year old did not enjoy but my husband and I did. The tour included the first state capital and the governor's mansion (for the times). Our guide was good. You can also visit on your own other historical sites around town. Great little day trip. Lots of restaurants to eat at and cute ssd's specialty stores. We hope to go back sometime.

I was visiting in Louisville, Ky. with my Sister when she said "Let's go to Corydon, Indiana. We visited everything that was open Saturday on the old town square finishing up at Butt Drugs. After enjoying a fully packed cup of ice cream at the soda fountain I began shopping their souvenirs. The store has many things to choose from with their name on it. You need to at least purchase a coffee mug, it WILL be the talk of your office coffee break or desk. This is a real working pharmacy. Real smart looking inside, you must visit this old town and drug store.

Been following the exploits of prolific John Hunt Morgan for years. The Battle of Corydon was one of a handful of recognized Civil War battles in the North, so this memorial should be preserved and not sanitized by the PC crowd. (One of the others Buffington Island, was Morgan's Raiders' last real battle engagement effort later that summer in 1863.) Thankfully, The original state capital building nearby has been preserved and it gives some more historical context as it how close the Confederacy came into the North's backyard looking for Copperhead anti-war sympathizers and looting.
