Ha'atafu is only about 20 odd kilometers from Nukualofa but can take around 30/40 minutes to get there - not because of the roads as they are actually pretty good for the islands, but just due to the speed limits and a lot of cars going at just 30-40km all the time -hey island time! The beach is great, the sand deep (actually hard to walk on it's so deep) and the snorkelling safe and easy. We don't surf but there was quite a lot of guys surfing here just off the reef too so obviously popular for that. And when you are done just pop next door to the Hideaway for a great burger and a beer - awesome!

It was fun driving out to the Blowholes. Besides the Blowholes, you got to see some agriculture as well as some very nice homes.

Situated in the village of Haveluliku on the Eastern Side of Tonga and only about a 30 minute drive from Nuku'alofa it's a must see.A tour of the cave ( including a swim) plus drop off and pick up can be organized by email or contact Teta Office in Nuku'alofa, TongaAnahulu Beach is just infront of the entrance of the cave and is great for snorkeling and swimming.

what a hidden gem this spot is. the cave is amazing with all the stalactites and stalagmites and at the final bend you can go down and get int he water. So cool and clear and beautiful. you can also jump off the rocks bordering the entry too. lots of fun!
