My partner and I visited this wonderful museum earlier this year for his birthday. It is a real gem because it charts the history of military museum from the ancient Greek and Egyptian civilisations, up to the modern day. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The only thing that is vaguely disappointing is the obvious lack of visitors. We visited on a Heritage Open Day, so it was slightly busier than usual. The collection itself is very extensive and interesting. We were particularly enthralled by the displays from the First World War, as well as the wooden Birthing Chair – which looks about as comfortable as a park bench!! It is a hidden gem and a must-see for those who are interested in history, medicine, dentistry, nursing the Army and much more!!

West End Centre

The West End Centre has been the creative heart of Aldershot for more than 45 years. This converted Victorian school, which has played host to Primal Scream and Blur, continues to host world-class touring bands whilst developing the grass-roots local music scene and supporting upcoming talent.

The 'Westie' is a fantastic venue, catering for all abilities & ages, with so many different things to take part in like pottery, sewing, painting & events like comedy club & music bands. Also lots of clubs like PAG Dance club for children with special needs. This venue feels like home, its local & the staff are very friendly & accommodating. I would definitely recommend the West End Centre.

Been here a few times... always been a good trip. Kumar behind the bar is an excellent friendly guy. The banter between him and a few of the regulars are hilarious at times which make it worth your while.
