8 Outdoor Activities in Crieff That You Shouldn't Miss

March 9, 2022 Terina Blouin

Crieff (/kriːf/ ( listen); Scottish Gaelic: Craoibh, meaning "tree") is a market town in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies on the A85 road between Perth and Crianlarich, and the A822 between Greenloaning and Aberfeldy. The A822 joins the A823, which leads to Dunfermline. Crieff has become a hub for tourism, famous for its whisky and history of cattle droving. Attractions include the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre and Glenturret Distillery. The nearby Innerpeffray Library (founded about 1680), is Scotland's oldest lending library. St Mary's Chapel, adjacent to the library, dates from 1508. Both are open to the public: the library is run by a charitable trust, while the chapel is in the care of Historic Scotland.

Great spot for biking. Only did the blue and the skills area with myself and my 6 and 8 year old (husband also did the red). Comparisons to Whinlater are, the blue is slightly more challenging to the blue at Whinlatter, but fast flowing and good fun. The red was enjoyable and challenging (it was wet). Being a compact area means we can repeat the same route, which builds technique and confidence, same with the skills park, ranging from lovely kids pump track to bigger drop offs/jumps The staff at the bike shop were fabulous too, very helpful, and relaxed with good advise.

My partner and I arrived on Monday morning to collect a shiny orange Caterham to spend four days driving around the stunning highlands of Scotland. Guy made sure that everything was perfect from start to finish he really does look after you and makes sure that everything is good to go. We really can not recommend this truly amazing experience enough. If you have ever sat and thought that taking a drive around the highlands sounds like it might be something nice to do, perhaps after watching the Grand Tour Scotland episode, then we recommend that you take a look at the 7ecosse website and make a booking you will not regret a moment. You only live once and you certainly dont want to get to the end and not have experienced this I promise you. Thanks Guy for a fantastic opportunity and we will definitely be back again.

During our recent stay at the Hydro we decided to indulge in booking a hack for myself and my daughter who is horse daft. Fiona our guide was superb and after my initial spell of 'bricking it', not having been on a horse for 15 yrs I relaxed and enjoyed. Fiona took us round the estate for an hour. We lucked out with the weather as it was cold, sunny and crisp. The horses we were on were lovely and obviously used to this kind of thing. Thanks for the memories Fiona. Lovely mother and daughter time. Would definitely recommend.
