Sort of average with nice pools and grounds.

Reviewed By mariaheloise

Difficult to rate this one. Many people don’t understand the star system for hotels. They are generally awarded for facilities rather than service. Pilot beach is five star in the sense that it has multiple pools( including an indoor one) and beautiful well kept grounds which include tennis courts, football area etc. There also seems to be entertainment in the evening and good facilities for children. Having said all that for me the experience here has been quite average. A couple of days before I arrived I messaged the hotel to ask about a paid upgrade. I would have liked one of their panoramic suites but no one got back to me. When I arrived in the late afternoon no one mentioned my message so I just decided to keep the standard room that I had booked.( probably saving myself a thousand euros in the end). I had also asked for a quiet, second floor room. I got a second floor room near the car park which I didn’t really mind but to be honest I could have done without the sound of the bottle recycling being emptied quite often. The room itself is quite nice with a view over the mountains. There are quite nice toiletries and bathrobes etc. My room has a very basic over a bath shower. No problem I think because I can have a nice relaxing bath. Unfortunately this hasn’t happened as despite messaging and then going to reception to ask I never received a bath plug and so said bath was quite useless. If you don’t want people to use a bath please don’t put them in the rooms and if you don’t want to bring a plug just tell your guests. After the second day of asking I gave up. Air conditioning in room good and bed comfortable. Maid service was good and unobtrusive. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet but to be honest for me the dinners have been quite mediocre. Lots of choice but very standard to hotels in Greece. Staff were nice enough but the whole order in app thing doesn’t really work well as for example I ordered ice coffee on the beach but the part of the app where you put your preferences didn’t seem to work for me so my coffee turned up with no sugar and one day it didn’t turn up at all! I suppose I could say these are all small things but this isn’t a particular cheap hotel so I don’t expect to have to do things like chase after a bath plug or a missing coffee. Would also be nice if a little more of a welcome was given at check it. The lady was polite and efficient but for me it just lacks that little personal touch that I expect in better hotels. So for me with two days to go of my holiday I would say that my experience has been sort of average. I do understand that I am not the usual demographic for this hotel as most of the other people staying here are German families who did all seem to be enjoying it very much. I really wanted to love this one considering it has a lot of very good reviews but maybe I am missing something. One more thing is it is quite a long way from Georgioupolis by foot. You can walk a long the beach but the deep soft sand is hard to walk on and I would suggest that you would have to be quite young and fit to do it in the 15 minutes or so that the hotel suggests. Would I stay again? Probably not but if you are Northern European with a young family this is probably a nice resort for you.

Great family holiday

Reviewed By andreamZ3074FX

We just arrived back from our holiday at this lovely hotel. Our children (2 and 6) had a brilliant time ,so did we. There is a little pool for toddlers right by the big pool, which was convenient. The breakfast and dinner were amazing with loads of variety of food. You can also have dinner at the beach of the hotel, which is about 3 min away. You have to make sure you book yourself in due to limited availability. The entertainment was amusing , kids loved every minute of the mini disco , big thank you to Agnes , who made their experience really special . Staff and manager, Nikolaos were really friendly and welcoming, we can't fault this hotel , we would go back anytime.

I visited here at the beginning of May and from start to finish it was amazing! I had that much of a good time I extended my stay. The staff were so helpful and friendly, Dali the entertainment guy was so good with all the guests and always gave us a great night. The bar staff were fantastic. The hotel was spotless and the food was great. I usually eat out but didn't bother as enjoyed the food in the hotel. The staff have table service for drinks in the restaurant which was a lovely touch. I honestly can't recommend this place enough, i had the best time and met some amazing people, literally can't wait to go back. Thank you everyone, see you all soon.

Good value time

Don’t listen to the 1* reviews, these people lack any perspective. Really great value, good food, decent range of food as well. Room is as can be expected, clean and has the essentials. Didn’t spend much time in the room anyway, town was so great and everyone was great. 8 uni students staying for a week had a great time. Angry northerners making noise complaints is to be expected but I think for the price you get that. Will be back.

Very clean, adherence to Covid precautions throughout hotel. Restaurant a tad canteenish which is fine for breakfast but no ambience during evening service. Booked HB but enough places to eat locally, so have eaten out most nights. Had a massage at hotel spa by Angelika would rate this 5 stars. Just the right pressure, fantastic! Cretan hospitality at its best!

Reviewed By John R

The room was basic but very clean and cleaned every day except Sundays. More importantly our host ,Maria and her staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was eaten on the terrace and was provided by the busy cafe across the road .More than enough for us! I last visited Crete and this area over 30 years ago and was concerned it may have changed for the worse. There's no denying that there have been a lot of changes but the atmosphere and the people are as good as my memory recalls. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend this place if you want a quiet holiday base close to the attractive centre and beach

Wonderful Hotel - All Inclusive package

Reviewed By 866markk

My wife and I were staying in Georgioupolis for 2 weeks due to a friends Wedding at the local Dourakis Winery. Safe to say when the weather picked up the views from the hotel were spectacular. We were staying at the hotel on an all inclusive package, breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was wonderful, the food was always fresh, despite it being a free for all there was always enough to go round, you never had to wait. The hotel had predominantly French guests, however the staff can speak and array of languages and were also extremely helpful. Lethevis and his staff are wonderful and ensured both me and all guests were topped up with beer, wine and raki, so you never go thirsty! On an all inclusive package there is snacks during the day at the snack Bar, when it is hot enough the beach bar opens and it offers up some beautiful views, perfect sun sets and views of the hills and mountains, it really is bliss. The beverages are local spirits not branded, these are extra, however the local spirits do the trick and the bar staff don't hold back on the measures. We had a double room, which overlooked the tennis courts, on the right side of the hotel, it had a balcony, with a slight view of the beach and ocean, the highlight however was when the sun hit the window every morning and it was just wonderful to wake up to. The rooms were cleaned daily and beds remade, and the cleaners even tidied up our mess, by even putting our clothes away neatly. Overall I would recommend this hotel, if your main language is French, however do not let this stop you if you are English because if you want a nice relaxing holiday I would again recommend here. There are entertainers from the company FRAM who have daily schedules with things to do, whether this be aqua gym, beach volley ball, cocktail making, etc etc. Or if you want you can just relax, there not pushy!! The pools fresh water, the sun hits it every day and its perfect for relaxing around, there is also a smaller pool for children. In the evening the entertainers put on shows, karaoke, quizzes in the small amphitheater situated at the top, these are a lot of good fun, and again the staff accommodate for any non French speaking guests. Lastly there is a Tavernas which you can book in to, unfortunately I cannot comment too much about this as we never got chance to book in, as it was extremely busy and booked up quickly, I did hear good things though. The hotel is not far from the center of Georgioupoli, about 15 minute walk. There are several nice restaurants located nearby which are walking distance, should you choose to not eat in the restaurant. Just want to say thanks to Mary and all her colleagues at Fram, Sissy, Leftevis, and Christina and there colleagues for looking after us. It was a pleasure to be there and hope to see you again in the future. Σας ευχαριστώ (Thank you) Mark and Michelle

Fabulous hotel, food and accommodation. The best part of the hotel was the amazing staff, couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Every single person was cheerful, helpful, professional and friendly. The hotel is very well appointed for trips out with a lovely beach bar (Vanilla Bar) just along the beach. We will definitely be back - the sooner the better. Something for everyone at this hotel ???????????. Thank you Kiki and her brilliant team. Mustn’t forget Dimi - thanks for the lovely morning stretch classes on the beach.
