The Old Rectory

Long Weekend at Sunflower Cottage, The Old Rectory

Reviewed By Randolph84

Lovely stay at the Cottage and a great weekend in Wales. The cottage is well looked after. It has a modern bathroom suite with electric shower and an additional separate toilet. Kitchen is also modern with electric hob, microwave, fridge freezer etc etc. Good WiFi to search for things to do and look at walk/driving routes which is good as there not much ‘things to do’ information leaflets in the cottage. (Not that we needed them). The main bedroom is very spacious plenty of room, you could easily fit a cot, dogs bed or even a blow up bed next to the double bed provided. The second room is a lot smaller but fits two single beds with wardrobe and a place for large suit cases. No where near the same spacious feel as the main room but comfortable for a couple to stay. If we had to pick up on something it would be the lighting in the dining room. It’s very poor and we needed additional lamps from the bedrooms to be able to see our board games and eat food late in the evening. Sean was very friendly and you feel he would try and help you out if and when you needed it. Two friendly dogs that come to say hello as you enter or leave the cottage grounds. Cottage and grounds well kept. The cottage is in a great location. Less than 30 minutes to all the places we went to; Llanberis, Llandudno, Conwy, Zip World, Zip World Fforest and Betws-y-Coed is also down the road. The village and neighbouring village has everything you need in way of shop, garage, take aways etc etc. The surrounding areas have some great walks and due to location a more adventurous walk isn’t that far away. Overall a great find, great stay and great weekend.
