Situated in 3,5 km from Porto-Novo, and very aprésier for the calm Casadefrance possesses haughtiness a restaurant and geographical Good location: endowed with a terrace, rooms include quite a terrace (corner lounge). Their bathroom privative and provided with a shower, you can appreciate a sea view or a mountain since your room the advantage is that you can bathe after a rendonner. The beach is magnificent and clean chaisse long at arrangement!!!

Silvio was very helpful in organising tours and renting a car. The room was big and had 5 beds ( we were just 2 ). Sometimes there was live music in the evening Negatives Few . We should have learned some Portuguese or French ... Wi-Fi can be a little bit flaky but that is on the whole island . The best internet we found was in a small restaurant next to the art hotel ... And a kettle in the room would have been lovely .

The SANTANTAO ART RESORT is located on the southern outlet of Porto Novo, the "gateway" to the island of Santo Antao. The small harbour city is a 60 min. ferry ride away from the island of Sao Vicente. Porto Novo has become over the years the social, economic and administrative centre of the island and is the ideal starting point for hiking, trekking, mountain-biking and canyoning tours on the island of Santo Antao. Along a well paved coastal road conducting from Porto Novo to Janela, you can easily and in real time reach the classic hiking trails in the North and North-West.
No wifi in bedrooms - but helpful staff
Reviewed By Mike JThe hotel says it as free internet, but that is only in reception. No wifi in bedrooms. I spent a week on this island (in winter/dry season) and got bitten by mosquitos in only one place - reception of this hotel. And I was only sitting in reception because there is no wifi in the bedrooms. They really REALLY need to change this. (And before you reply that this is Africa, and so I shouldn't expect European standards, I paid over 65 euros a night, which is more than some hotels in the UK...). On the positive side, we were traveling with a baby and needed various cups washed and sterilised, and the restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. Air conditioning in rooms only has one temperature (21 degrees) and one noise level (quite loud).

Nice hostess, location good only if by car
Reviewed By Extraordinary700274Very nice landlady, clean premises, good breakfast in CV standards. Small and short conjugal bed, aircon not in action. Situated in dusty wasteland, at the outskirts of town (will probably develop in some years time), hence best suitable if you have a rented car. Had fridge in the room, big plus.

Perfect place to stay to explore the island
Reviewed By Alex-124The house appeared to be brand new and made in stylish black-and-white modern design. The room is really spacious. Water taps, switches, tiles on the floor, windows, etc. that are used are high quality and famous brands. Mathieu responses quickly and essentially. He also can offer quads for rent that is a must if you want to see surroundings (directions could be provided by Mathieu) and don't have your transport (taxi is not the real option there) Beach club restaurant on the beach is very good: maybe not so much diversity each single day but chef from Italy offers different menu every day and the food is really very tasty (especially seafood). There was no wi-fi at the room during our stay but this should be fixed soon, anyway fast wifi is available at the Beach club. Location for travelling around the island is very convenient: - one day is enough for each "must see" route in every direction. - close to Porto Novo (ferry port, banks, shops, gas stations, etc.) - not too close to the town, on the secluded beach (quiet and no strangers around) Perfect place to stay to explore the island - we extended our stay more than planned.
