7 Top-Rated Campgrounds in Norfolk, East Anglia, England

April 24, 2023 Renato Branum

A holiday in Norfolk is not a glamorous break. While the Norfolk Broads of East Anglia are a beautiful part of the UK, they represent a relaxing rural getaway rather than a high-powered city-break. Although its reputation is mostly rural, with people associating the county mostly with the wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, there are also towns such as Norwich and King's Lynn to visit, both of which provide shopping opportunities, nightlife and entertainment. Norfolk also contains a large stretch of coastline, and seaside destinations such as Cromer and Great Yearmouth mean there are great beaches to be found as well. Many areas of the Norfolk Broads and the coastal region are sites of outstanding natural beauty, and are also protected as bird reserves, so take a pair of binoculars on holiday. There are also popular wildlife attractions such as Banham Zoo, with a great collection of big cats, and Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, complete with tropical sharks and conger eels. And of course, if any of your family are interested in boating, you'll need to rent a boat and explore the waterways of the Broads themselves!

Lovely lodges in quiet location

Reviewed By RubyRowallan

I stayed here with my parents in a three-bed lodge. When we arrived the greeting was pleasant and welcoming. The lodge was very clean and well-equipped for general cooking. The beds and sofas were comfortable. The lodge had a good sized deck area with table and chairs. The lodge was spacious and the kitchen was full size with a proper oven and fridge freezer. There was a dishwasher and washing machine, iron, ironing board, drying rack etc. A couple of other relatives visited for the day and were also impressed. Everyone wanted to move in permanently! There was sufficient space to park two cars next to the lodge. There are two very large supermarkets a short drive away and the usual pizza / burger restaurants on the same shopping park. There isn't really anything in walking distance but the site has a well stocked shop with essentials plus equipment for caravans and campers. Everywhere was well kept and tidy. The staff were pleasant at all times. My Dad was interested in seeing the glamping pods so was given a tour of an empty one. These look great if you are a younger family and happy to use the shared facilities.

This was our 3rd visit to Leas Beach Park this year, as usual a lovely clean caravan with everything you need for a self catering stay, Jos is excellent always meets you and shows you to your caravan. We have another stay booked later this month, meeting up with friends who introduced us to Leas, we have stayed at this park a few times over the past few years and can not fault it. Weather is what it is the park owner can not control this but the caravans have central heating what more could anyone ask for? There is even a washing machine to use free of charge on site. The beach is only yards away and very clean. I could go on for ages about this lovely little park but I will stop you take a look for yourselves ??

Was in caravan 20. It was like being in a car park. When I mentioned this to owners we were told to leave. They sent for police to kick us off and made up lies about us. The original review was deleted.

Glamping With Llamas

Hen weekend

Reviewed By kbrkaren

What a truly fabulous experience. We were a party of 13 so had exclusive use of the campsite which was lovely. The whole setting was beautiful. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Being in and amongst the llamas all weekend was so special, as well as the geese and chickens. The hot tubs and campfires were fabulous and the barbecue provided was really delicious. Spending time with the llamas and getting to feed them was so special and we loved the souvenirs we were given. We were there for a hen weekend and the whole weekend was so special. It’s such a lovely place with great hosts.
