While this is an old residence it has been nicely modernized. A lot of history on the walls, ceilings and through the house via the collectibles . Beautifully restored family home. Gianni was a delightful host.

Aurora Girarrosto, inaugurato nel 1948 è un ristorante e albergo situato a Tortona. Le camere sono spaziose, dotate di aria condizionata, bottigliette di acqua gratuite e TV. In tutta la struttura è presente il WI-FI per navigare in comodità e gratuitamente. Nella struttura è presente anche un ristorante che offre piatti a specialità regionale, di carne e di pesce. Reviewed By Joy FRoom was clean but basic. Property very neglected, outdoor restaurant no longer in use and deserted and very messy. Dogs welcomed us barking and rushing around the car. The 2 course meal was ordinary and breakfast just passable. We were the only guests so probably why everything was so basic. Pleasant waiter did his best with not much to work with. The general appearance of the Villa was so disappointing, felt like everyone had left many months before. We felt like we were being a nuisance just being there. Unpleasant stay, not like the rest of Italy which we found to be very welcoming.

Unrealized potential
Reviewed By William FWe stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August. The hotel appears to be in two parts one recently refurbished to a good standard the other rather old fashioned or maybe better described as traditional. Having said that the rooms in the old part are of a good size. We had a king size bed plus a single and a cot (neither of which we needed) the bathroom was large and well appointed apart from the shower door which did not close and the supply of hot water was rather erratic! We had a bit of trouble checking in despite having written confirmation the reception insisting we had booked for two nights when we had clearly booked for three, had we not had an Italian speaker with us I'm not sure what the outcome would have been. Breakfast was a pretty basic affair, simple but adequate. The hotel is well located for the railway station and not far off the motorway.

Visits here can be spent just relaxing and enjoying our home-made food and wine or for those seeking a more active holiday, there are numerous opportunities for cycling, mountain-bike and horseback riding in the nearby Natural Park or along the Scrivia River, and, last but not least, "mad shopping sprees" in the Mac Arthur Glen Outlet in Serravalle Scrivia.

Reviewed By LiinamaBecause of a great hostess Andreina, Cascina Folletto is a place where a guest can really feel welcomed. She speaks good English and made our stay in this farmhouse wonderful. We enjoyed tasty italian homecooking (four course dinner) in a cosy dining room.The breakfast was also really good, served with home-made peach and nectarine jams made of their own fruits. The room was huge, clean and perfectly quiet. Free parking. This charming B&B that is located really close, 15 min drive, to awesome shopping paradise of Serravalle Designer Outlet. If you are a golfer, there is a beautiful golf course Villa Carolina nearby.
