Reviewed By _ukaszf120The photos don't show how spectacular the view from the room is. This place is an absolute gem. Some people say in their reviews that the hotel feels old, but I found everything to be in a very good condition. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom felt recently renovated, clean and well equiped. The place is indeed simple, but personally I wouldn't change it for a luxury hotel in downtown Taormina. And the view. The view ! Some tips for travelers: 1. At least in August 2020, there's no breakfast, you can get a small discount for one of the cafés in Castelmola. The balcony is a lovely place to eat something, so it's highly advised to grab a fruit or two the day before and enjoy it in the morning having this spectacular view. 2. We asked for a room number 45 which was at the corner, so we neighbored only one room and had windows facing both the south and the west. You may ask for this room if you want a panoramic wiew, but it does not have AC. It's best to sleep with the front door closed and its curtains shut, as due to the southern exposure the rooms can get hot very quickly in the morning. 3. I got a better deal booking through hotels.com, paid 57€ instead of 80€ which was on other sites. 4. Taverna dell'etna is great for a dinner in Castelmola, but remember to make a reservation for a table with a view as there's only two of them! 5. Right now there's very few tourists in Castelmola, we were probably the only guests in the hotel having it all for us. 6. Contrary to older reviews you get your keys directly at the hotel, NOT at a café in Castelmola. That was the case until one year ago, but the owner has changed since. 7. One night here is not enough

Reviewed By zuriseetravelerFantastic view - very friendly welcome (only italian spoken, no english, no french, no german) but could navigate the handover. Huuuge terrace, interior design simplistic. Bath is very spartan. Direct view of Etna. We used it as a starting point for some excursions - that was not a good idea - it takes quite a while to get to anything. As a location to go explore the vicinity it is really great. In the afternoon all the day-tourists leave and it is calm and you can have a nice dinner in one of the local restaurants - that was very enjoyable.

Reviewed By Per UYou must drive into the main Plaza (bypassing the sign which says no entry) and then follow the only passable road. near end you will find this B&B in same house as Restaurant Le Mimosa. Excellent views from at elast two of the upstairs rooms sharing the balcony. Are you lucky you will at least see Taormina and some times in nice weather also Etna. Small but comfortable rooms. Clean. Ok wifi. The breakfast is basic, bout they make up some eggs on request together with tomato and mozarella salad. Family running the Place are very friendly. The first hotel we have stayed in where they use an outside elevator rope to take Your luggage up to 4th floor balcony. Smart.

L’ospite può scegliere in tutta libertà la camera che meglio risponde alle sue esigenze, valutando le caratteristiche di ogni camera. Casa Blandano, situata in pieno centro, ma allo stesso tempo in posizione tranquilla, è sicuramente il posto giusto per trascorrere una piacevole e rilassante vacanza a Castelmola, nei Colli di Taormina. Casa Blandano è facilmente raggiungibile poiché situata sulla via principale, in pieno centro storico, proprio tra la piazza ed il Comune, ma allo stesso tempo gode di una posizione tranquilla. A pochi passi della piazza centrale, quella di Sant’Antonino, pedonale, ricca di ristoranti e caffè ed impreziosita da un belvedere con una vista incantevole sulla costa ionica e sulla vicina città di Taormina, sul mare e sulla costa Calabra.

The room is modern, with a nice bathroom and a terrace, with view on the sea and the mountains. We really enjoyed the place!

We took advantage of this twice. Great meal very fair pricing. Avoid the tourista town and stay w real people in the Taormina countryside.

A delightful surpise, great accomodation perfect host
Reviewed By Cicero12We were delighted to find B&B Chiocciola as we did not want to stay in Taormina. This turned out to be an adventure to get to but the hostess and accommodation were amazing. TH eB+B is hard to find but the hostess and her husband picked us up from a hotel parking lot and drove us to it. THe B+B has two rooms one with one bed and the other more for families. There is a full kitchen which guest can use. A spiral staircase leads to the one bedroom and above it is a little kitchen area where breakfast is made by the hostess each morning. There is a little deck leading from this kitchen. Above this is a sun deck with fantastic views of Taormina and Etna (when there is no cloud) The one bedroom is very cozy it has two windows that look out onto the streets of Castelmola. Breakfast is wonderful our hostess which we called the little grasshopper is served 8-10 on the deck and there is a wide selection of cereal, juices, fruit breads and she cooked eggs and bacon for me. At first we were a little overwhelmed when we arrived after a difficult time trying to find the place but as she and her husband are so wonderful yoo become so laid back an relaxed. Although you may be there with another family this works out fine. On our last night there was an Italian family which we bonded with and had a lovely time at breakfast the next day. This is such a beautiful B+B that acts as a great base for exploring Taormina. You can either take a bus down or the walk down is not too bad if you have decent shoes. Coming back should either be by bus or if you have the stamina, the walk is amazing. We were so sad to leave
