Reviewed By SarahAshley4My friend and I stayed at the Reef Hotel for a lovely weekend getaway. We had an amazing view of the ocean and really enjoyed waking up to the sound of the waves. Our room had all the basic necessities you could need and we choose the all inclusive option which included all our food and drinks. The meals were delicious and the options were varied to suit everyones needs. Our favourite thing about our stay was the service. All the staff were very friendly and quick to assist with any needs. We stayed during Hanal Pixan (the Yucatan version of Dia de Los Muertos) and they had a fun evening themed to this with traditional food and a family oriented musical dance show that you could tell they had put a lot of effort and time into. It's a great hotel for a relaxing vacation with family, friends, or a romantic getaway.

When confronted, they pretended to speak no English when they had been communicating all day prior. They took full advantage of the situation when we were attending to the injured individual.

Reviewed By C5612SXsarahrWe stayed in room 300, which had great views of the Uxmal ruins peeping above the trees. The room was spacious and clean. There was a fridge in the room and air conditioning, although both of these were noisy. We relied on the ceiling fan to keep us cool at night. The restaurant staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was good and reasonably priced. The pool area was well maintained. Overall the hotel was very quiet. The Uxmal site is a short walk away. and is very interesting to visit. There are several other nearby sites on the Puuc route, but only Kabah is currently open due to Covid restrictions.

Great place and perfect for visiting Uxmal
Reviewed By elaine180000We spent one night here, before visiting Uxmal. It’s low season and so the place was very quiet. I was initially a bit unsure from previous reviews during low season about pools being out of service and the fact dinner is in an offsite restaurant. In fact, we think we loved it all the more because it was low season. The hacienda is beautiful, and really historic. The room was spotlessly clean and had the most amazing view. The sounds of the jungle are fabulous and you can spend ages just sitting and listening. The main pool was great (the only pool open) and the bar tender (I didn’t catch his name) made us the best cocktails we’ve had in Mexico at a very reasonable price for a high end place (around 150MXN). Dinner was over the road and was good (not amazing) but service was excellent. Breakfast was served at the hacienda but not included in our room price (around 300 MXN pp). It’s the perfect location for visiting Uxmal - a five min walk to the ticket office. The hacienda arranged a guide for us who was great (we really recommend getting a guide). The main reason we stayed at the hacienda was so we could get to Uxmal early and it was well worth it - for the first hour there was only one other person there.

Reviewed By Veron000I booked a night stay at this hotel for end of March through hotels.com. Three days before my stay, I received an email from the hotel saying do not come to the hotel as it’s been occupied by armed thugs. I asked for a refund they said I have to go through hotels.com I contacted hotels.com they said the hotel needs to authorise the refund and they are waiting for them to respond I still haven’t received my refund

Reviewed By conorf965Stayed here in Dec 21. The hotel was quiet but Harold and Sonia were excellent hosts and they couldnt do enough for us. We had an excellent meal and some lovely cocktails in the beautiful poolside bar! A beautiful hotel with a very relaxing vibe, would highly recommend to anyone staying in this part of the world!
