Scalloway Museum

Reviewed By 417juliep

Excellent local museum, packed with lots of information and items about the history of Scalloway from geology, prehistory through fishing to the Shetland Bus during the war. Lots to read. Very good for a rainy day. Your very cheap admission also gives you a season ticket for return trips. Small car park attached. Friendly staff and a small shop and tourist info leaflets. Next door is the castle which is open when the museum is.

Shetland Bus Memorial

Reviewed By hambone1313 - Washington DC, United States

The Shetland Bus is an amazing piece of history and it is well worthwhile stopping by this memorial to remember what took place in the 1940s. This part of the Shetland Islands has an interesting history, including a nearby castle, a very good museum and a super nearby restaurant in the Scalloway Hotel.
