A beautiful old church steeped in history, with a beautiful cloisters, with square & almshouses. Set in a picture post card village. A lovely old school also nearby.

This town centre church has recently had the pews taken out, but it is worth a visit to see the windows, use of space and to make use of the coffee morning that is on Friday and a couple of others days.

Wow, from Wessex to Cromwell, massive history lessons learned at Wallingford museum and castle! Beautiful grounds to walk, tracks along the Thames. Loved our visits both 2017 & 2018

St Peter's is a decommissioned / redundant church near to the banks of the River Thames at the old market town of Wallingford. Beautiful spire and unfussy, uncomplicated interior - the church really keeps the emphasis on the Christian message rather than any gilded memorials. In fact, prominence is given to the Lords Prayer, the Ten Commandments and the Apostles Creed, all beautifully shown on the chancel wall. Of interest to children inside the church, is the family grave stone of Sir William Blackstock and family, which has a large skull and crossbones motif. The simplicity of the church is also reflected in the charming roofing contrasting with the brown wooded pews. It is a splendid building, lovingly cared for by a charity
