It's a short drive but worth the effort. The cool water and vast expanse of beauty makes this a great place for a family picnic

Cylinder Beach

Reviewed By Queenslanderrr - Brisbane, Australia

There are 2 patrolled beaches on North Stradbroke Island, Main Beach and Cylinder Beach. Whilst Main Beach might be great for a surf, Cylinder Beach is the spot to relax. Put up your sunshelter and make a day of it, relaxing in the crystal clear water. The kids can paddle around and you can even grab a coffee from the permanent coffee van located near the beach.

Amity Point Beach

This beach at low tide would have to be one of my favorites and I've been around. Strewn with logs the gently curved protected bay joins onto flinders beach as you walk around the bend. At one end it starts at a Carpark where the rock wall which goes all the way to the jetty starts. There's no waves but it's sensible to act like a merest here because of no nets etc

Blue Lake National Park

Reviewed By rond686 - Caloundra, Australia

We took the Kaboora track, a very nice walk to and from the lake lookout. Although the information board warns about open canopy making it hot during the day, this was not our experience. For most of the way, there is good shade. The vegetation was nice. We saw very few birds, probably because we did not get there early in the morning. The track is good and, apart from a couple of places with soft sand, very easy indeed.
