Great hotel to stay in, very friendly staff, vegetarian food options available
Reviewed By kimdeborah1We stayed for 2 nights, to see the pandas in the nearby panda station. The hotel is simple, clean and modern - rooms offer enough space and have a small seating area to relax in. The friendly and very helpful staff made minor improvements at the hotel needed redundant - they helped us with organising a lot of things and even made great vegetarian dishes! Special thanks to Sam who was a great person to help us with any questions. The hotel has a washing machine on the rooftop which is free of charge to use - on top a small selection of wines ( white wine from chile was good!) and a beer selection. In case you need a transportation they can help you organise a reliable driver We would stay here again!

Great location BUT terrible experience
Reviewed By Fran CSo this accommodation is super convenient to the Panda center- I was literally the first guest in in the morning. I am a single female traveler who can speak chinese and I was made to feel SUPER uncomfortable. The room etc was nice and the older man who greeted me and showed me to my room was very nice and polite until he started making some off comments about me being "meaty" and "hugging husband" - i thought it was strange but then put it down to my chinese being not THAT great and the Sichuan accent. I chilled out in the room the rest of the day and when i went down for dinner it was just awkward. There was his daughter/ daughter in law who didn't acknowledge me but was just hitting and yelling at her son who was crying trying to do his maths homework... After dinner i went for a walk. when i went back to my room there was a cricket in there which i couldn't reach at to move out/squish. I went down stairs and asked the older man to kill the bug which he did. But then the conversation went south- whilst we were alone in my room. " very big bed- you are just one person.....sorry i didn't talk to you downstairs my daughter is down there, she is not like us, she does not like to joke" "oh is she very serious?" "she is not like us... we can hug, we can touch" He then went in for a hug - which in china is a big no no - non related male female hugging and in my room of all places, so i put up my hands and said no. He then went and held my hand in a "touchy" kinda way and then extended his other hand which looked like it was heading for my boob/shoulder and i was like hell no. Awkwardly excused myself. locked the door. Set booby traps up and in the morning went and saw the pandas.

Interesting Location, Average Hotel
Reviewed By Raymond WThis hotel is located on a bridge in the centre of town, so it is worth paying for a room with a view. Other than the views and location, the hotel is pretty average: there is no English spoken, the wifi is pretty poor, and the breakfast is a terrible joke. However our room was clean and comfortable, and based on the location, I'd recommend it.

A modern hotel - but no coffee at all in the rooms

There was a glass wall to the bathroom, which meant that when one of us went to the toilet at night the other was bathed in light and woke up - why do hotel designers like the idea of glass walls to the bathroom? There was no coffee at all in the room, so it was just as well that I brought my own. The tint bottles of "Bath Foam" and Shampoo in the bathroom had both been started and were half empty, so there was not enough left for two people to use. The bed was very comfortable (a rarity in this region) but the only beer available in the restaurant in the evening was warm. The western style breakfast choice was very limited so you really had to take at least some dim sum or other Chinese style dishes to have some variety. The food quality was however reasonable. Clearly the room was geared up for Chinese people but there was certainly nothing objectionable for westerners!
